The young team and rebuilding can not always be the excuse. Monty's coaching is terrible. He clears the bench in the third and early fourth then leaves rivers in and Davis never touches the floor in the 4th. He is also a terrible offense coach, half the time I have no clue what he is trying to accomplish on that end.

Thoughts?

The only way these lineups make sense if in the back of his mind he's kind of trying to tank. Basically thinking

"ok we aren't going to make any serious noise this season. Lets play just well enough to make sure the starters plus Ryno realize we can be competitive, but I don't want to run them into the ground just to maybe come close to the 8th seed. So I'll play our crappy bench way more than is necessary, and we'll get a top 5 draft pick, sign 3 real players in the offseason, and go full throttle next year."

If that isn't his thought process then he's a moron and we need a new coach

This was posted in the in-game thread and I really don't see how any person who watches the games can disagree. So Monty is either a moron or a loser. Whichever it is, I don't want him coaching the Pelicans.

Even though he will, I kinda agree...what has he done in this league that makes anyone think he's legit head coach?

Maybe you should coach the hornets since you have it all together. I mean, it seriously seems like you do and I will write a letter for you. Where do I send it?

Won the favor of a couple of sunshine pumpers on this board.

It's painfully obvious that the people who participate in the "coaching" threads simply do not follow the nba. It's and 82 game season. Are u really expecting these guys to play 40+ every night? We know the bench has gaping holes. It's going to cost you a lot of games, as it did tonight. It has little to do with coaching.

He's overrated. He's not terrible, but he's unquestionably overrated.

Bad rotations, predictable offensive schemes, and can't find a way to get his best player in spots where he can flourish.

Ah that makes sense. You are one of those people who puts up with any level of incompetence in coaching because "you'd like to see a message board poster do a better job."

So there is no middle ground between playing 40+ minutes a night and never playing Davis in the 4th quarter, having huge amounts of game time without a competent guard in despite having 2 on our roster, and player Rivers 25 minutes?

No, I simply think you deserve the job, and you should get it. Nothing more, nothing less. I'm actually writing this letter and starting a petition. Lets get the poster known as TheSexecutioner the job as the head coach of the hornets. He deserves it.

noise it is, but the lineups are puzzling at times...

...the Thomas/Rivers/Roberts backcourt for extended periods of time probably cost us the game...gonna have to mix it up with Gordon or Vasquez being on the court for some of that time.
