What is MM arguing about that AD is hurting people because AD loves his team and organization?! No one is putting a gun to your head to root for the Pelicans. Yes they are frustrating sometimes but we still root for them.

I think there are legit REASONS to criticize the team. But I UNDERSTAND why AD pumps sunshine like he does.

The difference between AD and Mac is AD is gainfully employed and makes a good living watching and analyzing our favorite basketball team. Mac uses a nom de plume on tigerdroppings.

I’ll vouch for the guy who actually played in the nba…

The problem with McNamara is he thinks he’s a hero by being negative. He pretends being constantly negative is a realist and that he’s the person sent from God to deliver the pelicans fanbase to reality. He’s the smartest man in the room and you can’t convince him otherwise.
I have a friend that is exactly like him. He is constantly negative with LSU, Saints, Pels, pretty much anything he likes. If you get a couple beers in him he’ll admit it has nothing to do with his true feelings, it’s just easier to be negative because when they fail you had 0 expectations to begin with.
I don’t call that being a realist, I call that being a coward. Many of us are pessimistic about the organization but we don’t parade around acting like assholes like McNamara does.

AD annoys me often but he is the local broadcast analyst for the team. he's a paid shill basically

Mac is doing what reporters/bloggers/etc do..
Say something incendiary hoping it goes viral so you can make a name for yourself and make $83 off of it
He tagged AD for a reason and AD took the bait.
McNamara is a first class piece of shite, regardless of the current state of the Pelicans franchise

LOL, now you're going to make some enemies here.
This board is always completely afraid to hope, and you just called most of the people here cowards.

1. I find this board to be overall pretty optimistic.
2. I’m not calling anyone here a coward. I’m strictly talking about McNamara.

Some of y’all are failing to realize MM may have a point. This is an organization run by car salesman and car sales women. You think they really going to tell the truth?
Posted on 4/7/23 at 7:48 am to LivingstonLaw
Secondly if you want to give the FO some credit. Well they are showing you how a snake oil car sales works. You continue to take the bait.

When your former owner was a used car salesman and builds a culture like that it’s hard to change. Griff fits in perfectly with that culture. They are slimy fricks. I wish season ticket holders would ask for refunds or voice their frustration. Money is the only thing these fricks respond to.

Couldn’t say it better myself. He’s afraid of investing emotionally so he puts up these barriers and acts like he’s smart when really it makes him look incredibly insecure. He’s the type of guy that doesn’t approach a girl at a bar because “they can’t reject me if I don’t talk to them.”

MM is very good at the coulda, woulda, shoulda. He's the monday morning QB living everyday like Monday morning. Everything he spits is resulted around change, trade, etc.
AD is very optimistic b/c he sees and knows these young players. Relationships. But that doesn't result in wins.
They really should be talking about Willy, not the players.

that fricker his been doing it for the last 20 years. At this point, you have enough evidence to say the guy thrives on negativity and is just narcissistic by nature.
His fake David Griffin twitter account last year was pretty funny. It got likes from Pelicans players. I’m guessing that is why the FO had Elon take it down.

The problem, imo, is they are two versions of the extreme.
Mac is too negative and AD is too positive. The truth is in the middle.
I find Mac's negativity a bit much. But I also get annoyed with AD never able to say a critical word about any player...ever!
On NBA Radio he takes the players' side almost every time ad just can't bring himself to say anything about players.
He's even said that's what he does. Just the other day, he said he'd never use his platform on the radio/tv to criticize anyone.
Umm. Ok, but are you really an analyst if you only call out the good?

I also don't really agree. The board, in general is fickle. If we lose our few, we are the worst team in the league and things won't get better. If we win the a few, let's start talking about this deep playoff run were gonna go on. The board isn't positive or negative only, they are both based on how we're playing but taken to the extreme.

You’ve nailed it. There’s a cowardice aspect to that attitude that I never could quite put my finger on.
Ironically enough there is also an egomaniac aspect to it.
There are people in this world who live for the “I told you so” moment. And if all you ever do is complain, relentlessly, without ever stopping to see something good for one second, you’ll eventually be right because humans aren’t perfect.
Thst feeling of being “right” is like catnip to these people. And back to your excellent point, they’ll never take the risk of being optimistic/happy/ etc, and maybe being wrong.
The south ends zone of Tiger Stadium is full of these people.
It truly is the coward’s way out.

For whatever reason, I am EXTREMELY fickle with this franchise, changing my opinion game to game and quarter to quarter.
It's weird and I don't know why. I'm not like this with football. I see the Tigerrant tards screaming after going down 3-0 to fire the coach, etc.
It's not like I haven't watched a ton of basketball before either. I've been following the NBA since the late 80s but for some reason, I have zero patience and jump to disaster scenarios with this team vs. my reaction when watching the Saints/LSU, etc.
