You also have 2 malcontents that have disappointed who don't have much, if any, trade value. A GM that didn't draft/trade for either and has harped on getting financial flexibility. You might need to add some 2nds
I feel like we would need to add some 2nds and not do the 9/10 swap, to be realistic

Even still, I would do it.

Are you starting Buddy or NAW?
I think you start Buddy, and NAW is your 6th man. Probably getting close to, if not more minutes than Buddy.

I’d prefer to start NAW…he won’t be asked to do as much with the other guys out there and can focus on being a disruptive perimeter defender that can also create off the dribble. If his catch and shoot abilities improve he has potential to be very good in the starting lineup as he doesn’t need to be as high usage. He’s shown that he turns the ball over too much and is wildly inconsistent when asked to be the team’s primary scorer/facilitator in second units.

Buddy needs to shoot, and he can’t do that as much when he’s sharing the ball with Zion and Ingram. I’d rather have him lite it up coming off the bench instead of just waiting to get an outlet pass from BI/Zion and the rest of the starters….he also can’t defend at all.

when is the last time a media member got one of their random trade machine ideas correct? I guess they make for good discussion but kind of pointless as they're rarely steeped in reality

I mean, the sun is going to explode some day so everything we do is kind of pointless.

Also, none of us actually influence the team and help the wins and losses and moves they make. It's all about providing/creating discussion about something people are passionate about. I'm here to fill time in people's lives. What more do you want me to do?

Also, in this trade the Kings got the 40th pick as well. But since we didn't do a 2nd round mock it didn't really factor in.

You have no need to defend yourself. I’m just happy I have content to listen to during the day buddy!

Constructive criticism:

I have sometimes felt that you are trying too hard to fill time on your podcast. I used to be a daily listener, and I quit because of how often it seemed that you would use up a full segment saying the same basic thing in slightly different ways -- like you were trying to find ways to fill the time.

I'll probably give Locked On Pelicans another shot once we get close to the season starting, because I love all the Pels Talk that I can get, but I'd encourage you to see if you can be more efficient with your time and less repetitive.

This would be an absolute win for the Pels I would think. Although, from everything I’ve heard Griffin and the FO say this offseason, Buddy doesn’t seem like the guy we are looking to add from an attitude and personality standpoint.

Bledsoe left the Suns because he wasn’t happy about not being the focal point of the offense. He goes to Milwaukee and it’s honestly more of the same….he just shut up about it, because the team was winning.

Watching Buddy all these years and hearing the reports from him not being happy about taking a back seat to Fox and others is a little concerning. He would most certainly be a third, if not fourth or fifth wheel over here. He shouldn’t be in the starting lineup, and I’m not sure how comfortable I would be paying $20 plus mil to a backup player with comparison to Lou Williams.

It’s a good small move to get someone that can contribute more than Bledsoe, but if another opportunity presents itself where we can move Bledsoe for something better that would be preferable.

In the context of the Mock Draft the Locked On guys did though, I think we should definitely do it if the opportunity presents itself. I would also be in favor of trading back from 9 and either getting two more useful players or packaging one of those picks to move someone else.

In either scenario, I don’t believe who ever we draft at 10 will contribute much unless they are a high floor guy with a low usage rate. We might have that in Naji already, so maybe trade back and draft potential instead and use the other asset to bring in a Vet.

1) thanks for the podcast Jake, I’m a daily listener. Makes my commute home from work every day a lot more tolerable.

2) I would be curious about starting NAW at the “1” with Buddy bc you know Zion and BI are really going to do a lot of the ball handling/facilitating. It’s just an opportunity to surround them with 2 shooters. Get some floor spacing to go with Jax’s vertical spacing.

3) Teddy and GOP can take a freaking leap. You guys suck. Do y’all bring anything besides negativity?

I would absolutely not start NAW and Buddy together. Need to move Lonzo for a quality veteran point guard who can run the offense in Half-Court sets.

i asked a simple question. how was that negative?
I truly don't know which i'd do, but i think i'd rather start NAW and let Buddy come off the bench, but given his attitude problems, that's a tricky one.
Would you prefer i not mention the negative part of that and just pretend it doesn't exist and build the team like i'm playing NBA2K?

Well, at first, I thought that Jake was drawing things out because he needed three segments each day to get in his ads. But I figured that's not the case, because of how often he says in the intro, "Today, we're going to talk about x, y, and z," and then he never gets to z because of how repetitive he was talking about x and y.

So, at least during the season, he always has plenty of stuff to talk about -- that's not the problem.

And I am not a hater. Like I said, I will probably go back to daily listening once the season starts. I am simply giving him some honest feedback about why I quit.
