Let's say we finish above .500 to end the season - does it save Griff/Willie? Please no

This is my doomsday scenario.

We go on a roll - which we will because this lineup is more talented than a lot of teams we're behind.

Griff gaslights Gayle into believing it's all bad injury luck (while Loomis cackles and claims coincidence as the Saints are also the most injured team - thanks Oschner)!

Gayle is convinced next year is different. We end up losing BI for nothing and end up picking 9-10 missing a star by one pick.

Injuries absolutely were the biggest contributor to this season's shite performance but any competent coach could have won twice as many with the team we did have.

The Pelicans are closer to packaging this years pick with BI and Herb/Hawk to get Lavine/Book then actually getting Flagg/Harper/Bailey.

SO short answer is yes.

There's zero chance we send out our 1st this year for Lavine. If we were moving BI to Chicago for Lavine, we are the ones getting a 1st back.

I'd send out our first this year for Booker in a heartbeat.
I do think we should be looking to move BI/CJ and our 1st this year to go get a superstar, like Booker.

CJ/ '25 1st to PHX, BI to Detroit where we get 2 1sts back, Booker and Isaiah Stewart to Pels. We get under the tax, PHX saves a ton of money.

Not Willie. Dude's offense is an absolute cluster, and he doesnt know how to use a time out or a challenge. Almost missed another challenge last night if it wasn't for Javonte. Willie Green has no business being a head coach in the NBA.

Detroit is not giving us 2 firsts, $14M in cap space, and Stewart for Ingram. That’s a pipe dream. As is getting Booker for CJ and a 1st.

Detroit doesn't get to keep their 1st round pick this year if they make the playoffs. And they have been playing good basketball and likely are looking to get better now, as opposed to tanking the rest of the season.
They have likely shifted their focus of their cap space to use it to get a good player, not take on a bad contract for a 1st round pick.
Stewart is having an abysmal year offensively. He's still been very good on defense, but he's shooting 24% from 3 (and he's not even shooting them this year after averaging 4/game the last 2 years) and his minutes are way down this year.

Problem with Booker is the Rockets and Thunder can outbid us. Getting Booker is a pipe dream

Going 4-3 in the last seven has people thinking irrationally. 2 of those wins being against the wizards lol

I thought the same thing, and then i tried to give him the benefit of the doubt and asume he means we go 21-20 to finish the year out, not 33-8.
If we went 33-8 to close the year out, then I'd be expecting us to make the conference finals.

LOL No.

I mean finish the remaining 41 games 21-20 or something like that.

I meant finish our remaining games .500.

So we finish around 30-52

I expect us to finish in the 25-30 win range.
I've said it many times, we are too talented to not win games if we are healthy. I'm sure we'll have guys sit out stretches of games towards the end of the season, but we are going to win games in the month of January b/c of how easy our schedule is, so just be prepared to win some games right now.

We'll go back to losing the majority of them after the trade deadline when our schedule gets much tougher. 30 of last 34 games against playoff contention teams.

There is nothing that would piss me off more than seeing CWG on the sidelines in 25-26.

Going into the season with Zion not in peak basketball shape would piss me off worse.
