It's so obvious but that poster is too entrenched in his Dyson stance to just admit the obvious.

I’m not naive to think otherwise, but threads like this and the other one that whstiknowsofar started at the beginning of the year and spectacularly blew up in his face are quite amusing to me.

The guy was a huge reason for the hawks making the playoffs. Yiu have to be an idiot to say otherwise. We attached two first round picks with him to get a guy that wasn’t leading this Pels team to the playoffs even if he was healthy all year.

These threads are quite humorous b/c the Pels arent sniffing the playoffs anytime soon. While a young #5 seed might end up with a top 4 pick thanks to us. And probably another high pick next year thanks to the DD trade. But let’s poke holes in a playoff game the Pels wont be seeing or have to worry about for awhile to make ourselves feel better….

Quit you whining on a Dyson Daniels thread.

On that note haters are always welcome on the show .

We'd be further away paying a guy like Dyson what he's getting now

I’d still take him over Herb. I love Herb but Dyson is the better player.

What he’s getting now or next year? Because Dumars paid Looney more this year to not play than what Dyson made to help his team to the playoffs….

He’s the tenth highest paid player on a playoff team this year. That’s tremendous value to me for one of their most important players….

Dyson never becomes Dyson on this team.

Willie dog housed him and ruined him IMHO, but his defense was always elite. The issue is willie and his useless rotations and prolonged benching never gave him a shot to grow

And next year will start the first year of a bad contract.

Please tell me how many championship/2nd round worthy nba teams have a starting pg that cannot shot 3s.

I'll tell you. 0. The answer is zero.

Guards that cant shoot 3s kill playoff team dreams. This isn't regular season anymore.
And Brunson cooked him all game. So the one thing hes supposed to do he couldnt.

Hawks fan checking in. Love having Dyson on this team. He is mature and consistent in his effort for a young guy. Yeah, he has weaknesses. But he is a leader in terms of playing starter minutes and taking care of the ball as a PG.
Oh, he got beat by Brunson yesterday. I guess that's the first time Brunson ever put up points in a playoff game against an upper-tier defender.

When Dyson gets cooked by a scrub, I'll show a bit of concern.

Thats the exact point you and guys like town miss. Elite defense will always lose to elite offense. Dyson will get exposed in the playoffs and limit the ceiling of any team he is on.

Atlanta already tried the 'elite offense' route. It was called the Trae Young era. It didn't work. They are now trying something else as the 6-seed in the playoffs.

I'll live with the Dyson results because I like the guy's demeanor and consistent effort.

You made an ecf with that and lost to the eventual nba champions. That is further than you will ever make it with dyson as your pg

Sure...Hawks made the ecf....only because Ben Simmons had a mental block and refused an easy layup or dunk. Dyson could have been on the court and watched Simmons hand them an ecf trip, too.

Yikes. Reducing a series to one play.

I've got Herb over DD...but you can't write DD off just yet. Hawks probably wish they hadn't moved so quickly on DD with that 4 yr #100M deal. Just bad timing for sure...plus I assume they have pretty much given up on their #1 pick Risacher. DD just MUST start shooting the open 3s...or risk becoming another poor contract. We'll see.

Is $25M a year really an overpay in 2026 salaries for a guy in his early 20s who you know is not going to lose his ability as a defender, rebounder between age 23-27?

JMO...and I luv DD...but there is NO way they are happy with 4 yr/$100M deal they gave DD...after the season he has had. His 3-pt game may come around but unless it does...he will have VERY little value as a PG, which is what his offensive numbers say he is...at least not... for ANY seriously contending team. I'm pullin' for him...

Does it matter if he helps you get to the playoffs? By the time this team is ready to compete for a playin game, that contract will be up lol…
