I've been a fan since the jump but I admittedly don't know X's and O's of basketball like I do for other sports. I watch probably 60-70% of games.

What are guys like Zach Lowe seeing in this team that I'm not? In layman's terms, why do we believe these teams seemingly on our level are making us look so terrible?

And why the frick is Dante Cunningham still employed?

Cunningham is 6'9 and a coordinated athlete. That is just really rare. You don't have to be a great basketball player, if you are blessed with unique physical gifts. Take a guy like Dwight Howard. He is a pitiful basketball player that can barely dribble a basketball or shoot a ball outside of 10 feet. But he is a gifted athlete that is over 6'10. There just isn't many people like that..

Dwight Howard also usually shoots almost 60% from the field, plays solid D, blocks shot, etc...

Cunnigham is just an awful basketball player, at which point it doesn't matter how tall or coordinated you are.

We look so terrible mainly because Gentry can’t coach his way out of a wet paper bag. We have two of the best bigs in the entire fricking league and we come out of the tunnel jacking up 3’s most nights.

It's a slang phrase of some southern dialects.

When both AD/DC are on the floor together the team is basically a top 5ish offense and defense. But when either one goes off it all goes to hell hard. I'm not even sure they're as good as the AD Pels or DC Kings which is kind of odd to figure. Although that lineup that chipped into the lead last night before AD got knocked out was looking like the effective Small Ball lineups from last year before the Cousins trade.

All I want for Christmas is for Darius to get double Cunningham's minutes.

Do you really think Dwight is a HOFer?

I don't think he's done shite to earn that. I believe he had the potential to be an all time great but he never progressed much if at all from his Orlando days.

He's still just a big strong athlete with limited ability on the offensive end.

Idk, I just feel like HOFers should be the best person on their team unless they are teammates with an all time great like Jordan or something like that.

He looks bad now but that’s after multiple back surgeries for an undersized center. But he did lead magic to the finals, 8x all star, 8x all nba and he won Dpoy 3 years in a row. Worse thing he did was go to L.a and play with a bad back. I don’t like his attitude all the time but guy is definitely a HOF

D12 (and Kobe) dragged that team into the playoffs too. That LA team was a top 3 team in the NBA after the new year.

Dwight is a LOCK HoF.

And there’s tons of Co-ordinated 6’9” NBA players, they just don’t have roles. Guys like Cunningham are tweeners for a reason. They can’t shoot effectively and they’re not necessarily bigs either with their slender body frames.

Lol I've always wondered this as well. Until Gentry and Demps are gone we will never amount to anything.

My guess is Cunningham signed thinking he would play off the bench backing up AD and Hill. Which is honestly all that should be asked of him.

He is out of his depth being asked to guard players like Paul George and switching onto players like James Harden or Paul Milsap with starter minutes.

Though the three point issue is just inexcusable.

Yeah, the best we can hope for at this point is that it's a mentality issue. Hopefully he can find his range better off the bench. He was so consistent from the corner last season
