Would love to have Boogie back, but not at the max.

Not really what the tweet says:

quote:

DeMarcus Cousins sounds like an increasingly likely target for the Lakers on a short-term max contract now that it appears Los Angeles will lose out on Paul George, per league sources. In January 2017, LeBron James called Cousins "the best big man in our game."

Also, as much as I love Boogie, I wouldn’t spend all of my money when Kawhi, Klay, and now KD will be FAs next summer.

The Lakers know they have to make wise decisions and Luo Deng is a constant reminder of their mistakes.

Too risky of a play for the Lakers and the kind of smoke and mirrors agents and writers play before FA to cause front offices to panick

This screams posturing by his agent to squeeze more money from the Pels. Hail Mary just before the beginning of free agency

This really doesn’t make much sense for either side. Trying to make Dell up his offer.

I’d love Kuzma. Being in this locker room would help him on and off the court I think and he’s s dog. I just don’t see it happening.

I think any short term deal with another team is unlikely. If he signs with anyone besides the Pels he resets the clock on his Bird Rights meaning he can only get a Max from a team with cap space in the next 3 years, even the team that signs him. Sign a similar deal with the Pels and they can eventually trade him to another team with his Bird Rights intact. If the goal is to get back to Max in 3 years he limits his options to cap space teams by leaving.

If the Pels traded him in a S&T, would his bird rights stay intact? If so, could that be a way a team could sign him to a short term deal?

If we can somehow turn this into Kuzma, dell deserves a statue.

I prefer Randle. I think he’s going to be very good.

So sounds like best case scenario is domino's falling like such...

1. LeBron agrees to go to Lakers but only if Cousins is there.
2. Pelicans trade Cousins to Lakers because he wants the jackpot contract in a couple years.
3. Ingram to NOLA.

Ingram then gets moved in two months for Kawhi Leonard. There. Championship contender for this upcoming season. We win title and Leonard re-ups.

if you want Kuzma instead of Boogie, I'm sorry you're just stupid.

I understand the intrigue of Leonard, but in the end, after how we saw the chemistry develop, keeping Boogie should be priority #1.

If you can add a legit wing AND cap space by moving boogie you do it.

Boogie wasn’t the missing piece vs the warriors. His fat arse would have got us swept. Facts only
