Hmm so

Ball / DJ / NAW
JJ / Huerter / Maxey
Ingram / Hart / Williams / Ojeleye
Zion / Melli / Green
Dedmon / Hayes

Finish with

Augustin
Redick
Hart
Ingram
Zion

(or Melli instead of Redick depending on matchup)

I don't hate it.

I really want Madar in this draft so I love that idea. Carey as a two-way is smart as it would help offset the overabundance of wings.

I think it further reinforces a 3 team deal with Atlanta as the facilitator is the best bet for the Pels. I've gotten used to the idea of 6, Huerter + other stuff and will be disappointed if they end up with a lesser package.

Yup. I guess right now the question would be is it better for us if Jrue goes to Boston or Brooklyn and is Atlanta cool with either package?

His floor is 7, as Detroit looks to have promised him they would pick him there.

I don't think he goes in the top 5 but I guess you never know.

If he's gone the Pels would take Haliburton.

If Williams goes higher than 6, we may have a shot at Avdija.

While I think I could live with that, I prefer taking a shot on Reddish if possible.

I'm not convinced that the Pels would take Avdija over Haliburton.

Maybe they would.

But I have a sneaking suspicion based on all of Griffin's culture comments, he wants Williams or Haliburton, the two guys that everyone considers the best "culture guys" in this draft. Thinking of starting a thread on that topic.

Didn’t realize Haliburton would only be 20 when the season starts.

Turns 21 in February.

Everyone raves raves raves about his character, how well he interviews, and how much of a leader he is.

Same thing with Williams. I think that will turn Griffin on more than anything else.

Not that I'm aware of. I don't think I've ever said they will definitely take a certain player until today. There's been players I like but I have repeatedly said I'm the furthest thing in the world from a draft expert. I've barely seen a lot of these guys play.

I just think there seems to be a lot of smoke around Haliburton and Williams and the Pels, and the whole culture fit thing seems to be the current buzz words coming out of Airline Drive.

To be perfectly clear, I don't have a freaking clue in reality what they will or won't do, just guesses based on rumors.

I haven't seen any real smoke about Haliburton and Pelicans. Actually, haven't seen really any smoke about any player and the Pelicans other than MM (Williams) and the Hawks "insider" (Ball).

His team finished 5-13. Sounds like his leadership wasn't quite good enough.
I'm sorry, i have a problem drafting guys in the top 10 that come from teams in college that sucked arse. He's not athletic and his shot is slow as molasses. Why is he a top 10 candidate? He looks like NAW minus 30lbs. They seem like very similar college players.

And that clearly started out as his own speculation on who the Pels wanted before it graduated to being thrown around as inside info.

Roster would look something like:

Lonzo/Augustin/Maxey
Huerter/JJ/Hart/NAW
Ingram/Williams/Hart
Zion/Green/Melli/Ojeleye
Dedmon/Hayes/Carey(2way)

You have the ability to play a lot of different lineups including BI at the 2 and Williams at 3, or shifting down and small ball with Zion at Center with BI and Williams r Green.

Is it a foregone conclusion that Darius Miller will not be here next year? I'd think we would trade him for something if anything, right? Or has his trade value diminished with the cap not increasing?

His contract this year is non-guaranteed. So, to trade him, his contract would become guaranteed. Would not think that happens unless that value is a must-have for a trade. Otherwise, I would suspect we release him as I do not see us paying him that much for what he brings.

Yeah, we would only guarantee him if we needed the salary to get a deal done. It’s not necessary since the Hawks are under the cap with this trade, and it would cause the Celtics to go under as well.

Halliburton reminds me of Garrett temple. Maybe an Evan Turner type. Not sure he’ll ever be a star but a guy that does a little bit of everything. Dare I say, the guy who every Pels fan will be drawing trades up for in 3 years.

College team doesn’t matter though, paddy.

Haliburton's shooting stats are much better across the board (for the most part) than both of those guys.

The ESPN draft experts called Haliburton "what we all hoped Lonzo would become". Considering Lonzo failed to meet expectations at the pro level, that's kind of absurd to say about a college player. But even if it rings true, is a "better Lonzo" what this team needs? Maybe if they plan to trade Lonzo, but it still seems like the wrong direction to go.
