Can you dedicate a response to that, I didn’t see it

96% of his three point attempts were “open to wide open” last season. Teams don’t defend him out to the three point line, and honestly I first heard McNamara say this so I researched for myself, and the numbers and eye test back it up. Teams don’t defend him out to the 3pt line, meaning the stretching the defense theory doesn’t really hold up. In pick and pop situations teams would have their bigs drop into the paint, etc.

Depends on what team needs are. To me, we already have JJ and Turner is 6'11 250. Turner hands-down for this team.

JJ has one year left on his deal.

And, before the Stan hiring looked to be 100% gone when his contract is up. If he still wants to chase a ring he might be here for half a season.

I’m 100% sure he’s gone. The man wants a ring.

I’m reading a McNamara tweet from last months that calls Turner a “stretch big who can protect the rim like Kleber”

So is he a stretch or not

In the same thread he’s fighting with someone who calls Turner a negative asset

Honestly I would like Hayward on a decent deal with the team. If it was possible.

Ball
Ingram
Hayward
Williamson
Hayes

Or

Ball
Hart
Ingram
Hayward
Williamson

JJ doesnt appear to be a ring-chaser, more wants to be an integral member of a competitive playoff team, which is what Griff anticipates or he would not have gone the SVG route. Of course, if JJ were to leave, we'd need to address that skill set. However, there are a lot of snipers on the market (JJ being one of the best) but again we have JJ right now but little paint presence and bigs that can stretch.

You must not listen to his podcast. Not long after the season ended between his podcast and being a guest on other people's podcasts he basically was referring to his time in New Orleans in the past tense and said very frankly that if he ends his career without a ring it will haunt him. He also flat out said he's reaching the ring chasing stage of his career in terms of choosing between money or contention.

On his podcasts he's always spoken fondly of playing for Stan and he believes very strongly in Stan's ability as a coach. So I think there's a chance that if the Pels look strong next season he stays, but if Zion and Ingram don't lift the team to dark horse contender status pretty quickly, I think he's probably gone, maybe even by the trade deadline.

I feel like it’s important to note that in Griff and Langdons short time here they have brought in quite a few bigs and the only one with any real ability to stretch is Melli. Maybe they prioritize other things in their bigs.

I would also say Huerter is more than just a sniper. He can do a little bit of everything, on top of averaging 4 asts a night as a wing. He’s really promising.

Rumors last season were that they were trying to pry Turner away, but Indiana wanted too much.

Or maybe they are just rare & valuable & in the one season & offseason they’ve been here, haven’t had the chance to

I like Hueter too, just think if your building around Zion and BI no need to overload the roster with additional playmakers. The ball is going to be in Zion, BI and I also think Zo's hands. The Offense will be fine. Hueter's advantage on this team would be he is also a good finisher.
Never the less, the problem keeping us from a playoff position is that we provide a runway like JFK airport to the rim for opponents. Hueter can't fix that and neither will be throwing BI or Zion in the defensive post as a 4 and 5.

There were well over 100 “bigs” that entered free agency last season from other NBA franchises (that’s not including guys that were in the GLeague, overseas, drafted, etc), many who had the ability to stretch the floor and wouldn’t have broke the bank, and yet they signed the players that didn’t have an outside ability.

Feel free to go look up the number of players who entered free agency last season and then come back and say I’m lying. To go even further, about 60 of those 100 signed for the 2019-2020 season.

We stayed in the Al Horford sweepstakes until the bitter end and according to the Indy beat writer we inquired about Myles Turner during a timeline that would appear to be before Favors.

And we brought in Melli.

Option A and B for us were in fact stretch bigs. When those didn’t materialize we brought in a set of guys that we hoped could offer both but in two players as opposed to the singular players we initially went after.

To me if they aren’t recognizing the crucial importance of this version of Zion to have a big man that can protect the rim and stretch defenses, I’d be actually worried for what our realistic ceiling is.

Hard to say when you play with Trey Young. He shows willingness on defense and displays effort. How effective that is depends on a lot of factors. Don’t think he’s ever going to be an A+ defender but if you put him in that Duncan Robinson spot where you surround him with strong teams defense, I’d say he can be competent and not a liability.
