He has his warts for sure, but game wise, he is a great fit for the Pels. He just needs to have his head screwed on straight.

Ayton and maybe they'll throw in Duop Reath as a nice back up big and bring out the LSU crowd

Contract sucks but that’s a great big man next to Zion for spacing.

Murray, Herb, Trey, Zion, Ayton

That is a very long line up across the board. I think CJ probably still takes the starting role over Trey, but that is a serious starting group.

He played for LSU, but how many fans have really followed him once he went pro? I don’t think many people, other than die hard Tiger fans, even know he went to LSU.

Ayton only has two years left on his deal. It’s not nearly as terrible as everyone has in their head based on what it was. That being said, I need draft capital if I’m turning BI into Ayton.

Agree 100%. If you can get Ayton + picks, that’s a win . I think having Ayton instead of BI makes the Pels a better team right now. Add in the future salaries and the picks we would get(if that’s plausible), and I would be more than content.

frick no not Ayton. Y’all haven’t watched him play enough.

Dude gives zero effort and goes completely missing for long spans of time.

We really need an energy guy like gafford or what yves will be. I think that’ll help the team more than a midrange spacer

I don’t mind bringing back Barnes, but I wouldn’t consider him as an asset, just a salary filler, but he’d be awesome off the bench at the backup 4.

Zero interest in Sabonis, and they aren’t trading him.
I like Keegan Murray, but he has no where to play here unless we’re going to do what I want and put Zion at 5, and I know we aren’t doing that.

If we can get Murray, then use him to get Lauri I’d jump for joy.

Yeah, I don’t think Ayton is our answer. I don’t think he is the kind of guy Griff will bring in. Based on what he has shown over the last 6 years, I don’t want to bet on him figuring it out and being a guy we can count on.

I get being underwhelmed with his play since the extension, but I’d take the previous version in a heartbeat. Even if he just maintains his form from the second half of last season I think it’s enough to win given everything else we have, just maybe not the coolest possible outcome.

After that extension shite got weird in phoenix, Monty left, all that whatnot with cp3. Then he gets traded to he Detroit which is the place bigs go to die. If you want to look at him optimistically, I can make a decent case for it. Certainly this would be the best locker room + chance to win location he’s been in a while

Indiana making it to the ECF means he isn’t going anywhere if they think he is part of the long term plans.

It’s crazy that Myles Turner isn’t at least like 37 years old. I feel like we were talking about him to replace David west

The problem is this roster has Z, Murray, CJ, and Trey who will all take a lot of shots. Ayton has never been what we need now. He is not a great rim protector. He is not an energy guy who is great in the pick and roll. He has never shown a high basketball or an ability to play away from the ball.

His biggest attribute, being able to score from 15 and in are minimized here as the fifth option. How does he respond to that? He has already shown that he is not content in that offensive role, even on a team with the best record in the league who went to the finals.

Part of his shitty attitude was the Phoenix front office lowballing him after he took a minimized role to help the team win.

fricking with his money must have been like fricking with his emotions.

I credit Portis with an assist to us getting Mrotic as a result.

I am really interested in seeing a

Murray, Jones, Murphy, Williamson, and Allen lineup.

Given that the 5 is speculative at this point, I’ve been imagining how I’d try a small ball lineup on 2k with currently rostered players…with varying degrees of success. The most fun was

1.Zion
2. Murray
3.Ingram
4. Herb
5.Murphy

Whereas the most consistent on defense was either this

1.Murray
2. Ingram
3. Trey
4. Zion
5. Herb

Or the same but with Zion and Herb flipped. So there you guys go, super useless info for us to look at while we wait for wtf happens
