Like ~15 with good defense and playmaking. The pels also being one of the top teams in the league would help his case

first he needs to be named to an all defense team.
2nd team at least.
and the pels team needs to get to round 2 or better with him looking like jrue in the finals in a series.
then the next year if by year 3 he can shoot a little better than avg he could get votes for 6th man.
or if he's in top 3 for Dpoy in year2. he can't just be 2nd team D unless he's a real factor on offense.

Pro tip, never use ceasars. They have the worst odds 99.9% of the time. Even their “boosts” have lower payouts than a lot of books normal odds.

It would be rare for the award to go to a defensive player (LINK ).
He would just need to stand out, which he already does. It is a strange award, with no clear criteria to win it, other than not start more than you come off the bench. Usually guys that should be starting. But are blocked by a better similar player.
There is a good chance that Alvarado starts more than half of his games.
