Same can be said for panicking and making irrational decisions.

He's played out his whole rookie contract and its been the same thing every year. I wouldnt call that irrational.

I just dont see much difference in Zion and what everyone collectively makes fun of Anthony Davis for.

We've literally seen this story before. I just dont get wanting to go through part 2

3 out of 4 years, not every year.

What year did he play the majority in? Thinking its probably the shortened season

Year 2, the second shortened season.

He played 61 of 72, but was healthy enough to play the final 6 or so games but was shut down since we were out of the playoff hunt due to the broken thumb that he had already been playing with for around a month.

So he theoretically could have played 67 of 72 if needed.

I admire the constant positive stats you push for him. But to put some perspective in the other 3 seasons of his career he has played 29, 0 and 25. He also had rehab delays and injury setbacks in all 3 of those seasons when trying to recover. Maybe we’re due for a 60 game season- who knows.

Honest question, if I said Zion basically played 2 out of 4 seasons healthy and near full seasons, would you not correct that?

The poster I replied to seemed genuinely curious, so I was just giving him the info so we can all have the correct information going forward.

Im not hating. You were right to answer the poster correctly. And to be fair, I wouldn’t count 60 games as near healthy or full seasons but nowadays is players play near that its a miracle.

You keep saying this, but we weren't eliminated until the last week of the season. He left while we still had a chance..

That's not how math works. He either played or he didn't. It doesn't matter if he could have, it's impossible to prove..

Yeah idk why 95% of this fanbase mis remember the end of that season

We were basically like 2 horrendously blown 4th Quarters away from having the last game of the season be a win (go to play in) or lose and go home game.

And we lost those games bc Zion and Ingram were on the bench.

Every team in the play in mix was choking their asses off that season.

Neither were shut down bc we were officially eliminated from the play in. They must have actually been too injured to play.

That’s why you can make the argument that Zion injuries have kept us from our peak 4/4 years.

He didn’t get injured due to his lower body that year, but he got injured due to his 99% inside the scrum of the paint playstyle (which is another reason why he’s always injured in addition to his body)

Fair warning this could be utter shite and not sure I believe it.

#Sources — Zion Williamson and his camp reportedly prefer a change of scenery, specifically in New York. Pelicans will field trade calls through the NBA Draft, Thursday, June 22. #NBA

Saw it a couple mins ago and dismissed it personally.

The team made the choice to shut them down, not the players.

They essentially tried to get the better lottery odds

So have other Pelicans players, including BI. Is it the players or the staff? I think both.

You wouldn't call 61 out of 72 a healthy season? It was not an 82 game season. That is 85% (or the equivalent to 70 games in an 82 game season).

He broke his finger on the rim. How many players dunk in today's game? Should they stop doing so? He played through it until the team shut he and BI down.

To be fair BI injuries and setbacks werent as severe as Zion. BI still played in over 40 games. Zion played in 0 or less than 30 games in other seasons. BI was also available at the end of the season/playoffs. My point is not completely fair to lump BI in here with Zion. BI has his health issues but Zion is literally missing the whole season or playing a quarter of it.

To be eligible for postseason honors players need 65 games. Considering the team shut him down early, Id say it was a healthy season. It appears more though that the team wants his attention. Curious to see his response as this is likely his first taste of being expendable. Im still rooting for a BI and Zion duo.
