Said #4 pick should be DeAndre Hunter. Also said Duke had to readjust their vertical jump measuring device because Zion would exceed it by jumping higher.

I see no issues with it if that's the route we take. I think we'll get a player regardless of who we select. They'll be put in position to succeed here.

The #4 pick should be Hunter. It should be Garland, it should be Culver. It should be traded for 8 and 10. It should be traded for 6 or 7. It should be traded for future picks. It should be traded for Beal. It should be traded for Turner. It should be traded for Gordon.

Did I get everything?

That really does get us a strong starting 5 next year. Hunter makes a lot of sense for what we want to do.

There's to much potential on the board to take Hunter at 4.

no

there is an argument for Garland, but after Garland, there is simply not "too much potential" above Hunter

Hunter is also very safe, which people are turning into a criticism almost. just b/c his floor is high doesn't mean his ceiling decreases

Hunter would be PF in this lineup? As a strong defender, he could assist Zion with defending the big boys?

He’s the best defender in the draft, and has the best mid range in the draft. He’d fit our defensive minded team really well and would be great off the bench. You know exactly what you’re going to get out of him. I’d take hunter or garland, both are solid options.

That pick is Schrodinger’s Pick. It is and isn’t every prospect in the draft until Silver hits the podium, and even then it could move.

If we are hell bent on not taking garland at 4, which will be a monumental mistake. Then move back and draft Rui with one of the picks.

Agreed. Hunter shoots very well from the outside. I don’t think he ever turns into a mega star. But he can turn out to be the second best player on this time besides Zion in 3-4 years.

Like a Manu to Duncan

I’m willing to bet we ARENT hellbent on taking Garland. We have Lonzo and Jrue and the FO and Gentry want those guys getting loads of minutes. I hope I’m wrong because I like Garland but some of you guys need to wake up or you’re going to be really disappointed on draft night

If we don’t trade for a player or draft back, then we will likely pick Hunter or Culver because they fit the makeup of the team. Hell Hunter is big enough he could play a small ball PF with Zion at the 5. Don’t get sucked into “our FO HAS to take Garland he’s gonna be amaze balls”. He might be but we’ve been given no indication we have serious interest in any players besides Zion and Barrett, which is why Griff is trying his arse off to get rid of it

At this point should we not just get the best players available?

We are in a semi rebuild mode.

So what if it’s not a “good fit” this season and it could be the best fit next season.

P.S.

Jay Bilas is a Dhead

Hes too good of a shooter to pass up. Ball is a below average shooter and Holiday is an average shooter but by no means a knockdown shooter. You find the minutes for garland, even if you have to play jrue at the 3 at times. Ball, garland, holiday, and hart would be your guard rotation. I like Ball a lot, but he would be the first one to go if it meant not getting Garland.

Bottomline to me... if you arent going to use the 4th pick on garland, then at least get the value out of it. Dont just go and pick Hunter when there are other guys available around the 8-15 range, that can fill the exact same need, plus you get an additional pick in the lottery. Rui in my opinion is just as good as hunter if not better.

Yes. Which is why they’ll take garland or trade the pick
