f we play Jrue, JJ, BI, i wouldn't mind seeing Favors and Hayes in the lineup

favors should be back by the weekend, and they need him badly. hayes will take okafor's minutes which is a win on the floor and for team-building

to me the biggest question is ball. it is not a coincidence that redick and holiday's play has elevated with ball out (jrue is more aggressive at the 1 and is getting redick some great looks)

That line up would never happen.

Offensively Hayes and Favor would clog up driving lines and it does not fit with the tempo style Gentry wants. Now Having Favors and Hayes at the 5 and giving each other breaks and having fresh legs will be nice to have.

Having them both on the court would not be good offensively or defensively.

We play zero defense and if we run into a team that shoots 50% they win.

I know this was before the game last night, but the Blazers shot 44% from the field, however, they shot 55% from 3 on 29 attempts, and we won by double digits (while shooting only 44%). Not arguing we play great defense, but when healthy this roster is a lot closer to a deep playoff run than winning the lottery.

while I'm not advocating for this, nor do I think either one is a "4," I wouldn't be opposed to seeing how it works out.

my better judgement thinks is turns out poorly, but I can't say I'm not interested

Yea, Favors is way to slow to guard a 4, and A smart team would just draw Hayes out to the perimeter and either ISO him or take him out of his rim protection.

On Offense, they would be pretty easy to guard as well, unless Favors decides he wants to start knocking down corner 3's at a regular rate.

Favors has literally been playing the 4 opposite of Gobert the last few seasons.

I'm not interested. I already know that you're right, and it turns out poorly.

Our offense depends on drives to the basket. We do well when Jrue, Brandon, Frank, and even NAW push the ball inside and either lay it in or kick it out.

When there are two bigs out there and neither stretches the floor, those lanes are clogged up and there's no room to drive. Our offense then consists of lazy passes around the perimeter with someone chucking up a duck as the shot clock expires.

We even saw these results in the preseason when Zion was in with another big compared to when he played the 5. There was a lot more room for Zion to drive when there wasn't another big in the way, and Zion and the team did a lot better.

You mean the Back to Back DPOY Gobert correct? Yea I don't think Hayes is there yet. We would be at a huge disadvantage with both of them on the court at the same time.

Favors against a 4 would not be beneficial on this team.

Im not saying 20 minutes a game, just would like to see what would happen if they played some minutes with that lineup in the right situation.

Our defense sucks.

Why? He can play the 4 if needed. Decent mid range shot, has played many minutes at PF. Jrue/JJ/Ingram/Favors/Hayes could absolutely work.

You don’t want him against stretch 4s on a consistent basis.

any lineup is a usuable lineup while zion is out.
as noted favors played about half his minutes with the jazz at 4 next to favors

He's looking good. Still much to work on, but very promising.

Pels fans need to brace themselves for a rookie wall. Let's not turn this board into "Has Jaxson regressed?" "Coaches have lost Hayes" Talk if/when he slows down in February
