It's mutual. He'll be forgotten in NOLA as soon as he's traded.

quote:I'm not trying to say AD is pawn or anything like that, but I think sometimes he's driving home points the front office wants him to. I'm not even saying they're telling him to go on the broadcast and do it, but I imagine he's a bit in the know in speaking with them and they're relaying their concerns on items.
But what do you think it means?
And potentially, if he agrees, he's taking those opportunities to get those messages out there to the masses.
quote:Not saying it doesn't matter because it certainly does but that's for the team. For me, I don't care how he feels. Figure it out, you're a big boy. Zion is clearly our best player and the team building and on the court will revolve around him. The quicker BI accepts that, and maybe he has, the better we'll be. If he cant' accept that soon, he can ask for a trade. That's really it IMO.
How did BI feel about Zion getting so much attention and taking over as the team's Alpha?
But again, that sounds harsh, just playing to the scenario. I've never seen anything that leads me to believe there's an issue right now.

Great exception to the rich kid stereotype is Larry Freaking Nance second of his name. Dude just puts his head down and goes to work.

Josh Hart (plus NAW) turned into McCollum. He had some decent moments. But it was over once he tried to be a PF and shoot 3s..
Wasn’t NAW immediately released. He was apart of that trade on paper but that trades happens with or without NAW.
And it was a great trade by Griff. But that trade doesn’t change the fact the 4th overall pick is the second best asset we’ve received from the lakers and griff whiffed. Deandre Hunter or Garland should be on this team.

NAW is still with Utah, where he got redirected from Portland after we sent him there.

For sure, plenty of wealthy people that do the opposite of Jax and just go out and try and prove something. Curry another. Hell I remember reading Joakim Noah was born to Tennis pros and his grandfather was a star soccer player. Jax is clearly not cut from that cloth though. Which is a shame cause he has the athleticism and size that should be invaluable in this era.

Fair enough. Didi and Tomas were also part of that trade. And like NAW I think were fillers.

But muh chemistry

Eh… yes and no.
They were guys on either short contracts or non-guaranteed deals when Portland was desperately trying to clear long term money.
Having guys on expiring deals / non-guaranteed deals plus a TPE to absorb Nance put us in a position to get CJ at a reasonable price.

I’d just as soon not disparage Hayes. He is a current Pelican and getting shite for a supposed like on a tweet?

Tomas was part of the Lonzo Ball trade to Chicago.

CJ trade, not AD trade

Surprised by the amount of people triggered by this. He's just confirming what we already knew and expected for awhile now.

I think he is moreso getting shite for being a complete waste as a lottery pick when that draft had a shite ton of useful players.
For starters there's the whole scenario where we could've not traded the 4th pick and selected Darius Garland instead. But even when you factor in the trade, the next 5 players selected after Hayes all turned out to be rotational players (Rui Hachimura, Cam Reddish, Cam Johnson, PJ Washington, Tyler Herro).
Meanwhile, the most notable thing Hayes has done as a Pelican was a crazy summer league dunk and getting tazed by the cops.
Part of the blame goes to the front office as well. I remember a lot of people on here questioning on draft night when we picked Jax because of his slender build and the fact that he had only played organized basketball for 3 or 4 years at that point. It was always going to be a project that had little chance of panning out.

The feeling is mutual Jax

I think the idea was to get a big to try and let Zion play the four instead of the five.
To say it hasn’t worked out is an understatement.

Hayes didn't want to exceed 235. That in itself is the big issue. He should at least aim for 250 at the minimum. Then he showed no interest in banging down low and didn't look to improve there at all. Instead he worked on dribbling, shooting, and anything that doesn't require dirty work.
He still plays like an oversized wide receiver playing basketball which is essentially what he is.

Yeah but think about it, 250 might impact the "Gram-ability" of his Fits.
skinny is more en vogue these days.
And we all know the work Jax has put into being the team's leader where it matters most: Instagram Fit Posts Per Year.
It's a shame the Pelicans don't want to reward him for his strong efforts over the years...

He’s got a small brain to go with physical gifts.
