James Wiseman being release

Would you take a flyer on Wiseman, I know he hasn't lived up to his draft status thus far, but he is a 7'0, only 23 years old with experience, size and athleticism and on a pretty good contract.
Keep in mind we are losing Jonas and Zellar in free agency.

If we're losing Zellar to another team in free agency then he probably is better than a guy that's getting released by the fricking Pistons.

If we're gonna try him out and keep him in that zeller role sure. But not as any type of significant player. He's awful. He's jaxson Hayes without a shot

He is just a free agent….he wasn’t released.
His rookie contract is over, and he will likely command more than the vet min…he is not in Detroits future plans, but could give good minutes on another team.
I would throw part of the MLE at him or Drummond.

Why am I seeing people act like Jaxson can shoot? He had a good looking FT shot and very RARELY would hit a corner 3 but I would not say he can shoot at all. He’s a dunker

Wiseman is trash, he should have never been drafted where he was to begin with

They renounced his rights making him a free agent because he wasn't worth the qualifying offer.

There are advanced stats that say he is actually the worst player in the league. Wiseman got played off the court in summer league games last year.

I've read some people saying that he started to figure some things out towards the end of last season. He's still just 23.
I'm not for bringing him in to start for us, but I don't object to having him on the roster to see if he can improve.

I just think there’s still upside there. You can’t teach that size and athleticism.
All I’m saying is I’d rather bring him in to be our 3rd string center than a guy like zeller. Maybe wiseman improves. Probably won’t but if you’re playing you’re 3rd string center it’s either a blowout or you’re ravaged with injuries in which case you’re fricked whether you have Wiseman or Zeller.
I think you just have to take these chances as a small market.
