Wishful thinking: Iguodala, but I don't know if the money works. Zach Lowe teased some big info at Philly at the end of his Court Vision column today- possible trade?
Word I've been hearing is that Iggy is out in Philly.
Besides the Wright trade and the continual trade rumors about him, there was also them drafting Moe Harkless and their media stuff for this season making their young guys like Young and Holiday the faces of the franchise.
I don't think we are necessarily getting him, but I think he is going somewhere.

I'm afraid what the contract would look like if we out-signed Denver. We'd have to overpay out the a-hole to make Denver back off. Only way we get him is in a S&T which is unlikely anyway.

haven't read through this thread, so I apologize if this has been discussed, but basically we gave Jack away for free?

Technically, yes.
We traded Jack for cap space and a $5.4m Traded Player Exception which stays on the book for a year.
I try not to look at it as "giving Jack away" until I see what Demps does with it.

Yes and no. We gave him away for current cap space and a $5.5 million trade exception which might be more valuable than Jack himself at the trade deadline. So basically Demps found a way to trade Jack's contract twice.

Would Denver want to pay McGee top dollar since they probably will have to give Ty Lawson a big raise next season also? They are already tied to Gallinari for around 10.5 million, Al Harrington, Affalo and Chandler are also due around 7 million each through 2014-2015?
Correct me if I am wrong but that's a lot of money already tied up and I am assuming Lawson will get a contract excess of 10 mill.
LINK / their salaries
I have a feeling Denver would take a S&T deal from us for mcgee..or I am just optimistic

Just got out of class to a 12 page thread on jack being traded.
I'm not wading though 13 pages of this, so can someone please give me a decently detailed cliff notes here?
It would be most appreciated.

He got traded. People freaked. Everyone's calm now. We get cap space. Maybe a pick.
The end.
The end.

We traded JJ to the Warriors for a 28 year old Bosnian guy

Rather than have Jack stunt the growth of Vasquez and Rivers he got traded. In doing so the Hornets freed up $5.5 million in cap space and got a $5.5 million trade exception. Jack was likely to get traded at the deadline any so the trade exception lets you do that and probably has more trade value than Jack himself. What Demps plans to do with the extra cap space now is unknown. He could put in an amnesty bid on a guy like Elton Brand, he could sign a player or take on a contract for a pick like the rumored Gomes/Beli S&T.

Wow, not sure I'm a big fan of this. Seems like a pretty Shinn-esque move to me.

There's a difference between cutting payroll and creating cap space. Like I said, he basically found a way to use Jack's salary slot twice. That's not being cheap.

I'll call demps. Tell him danman doesn't approve. He will rescind the trade right away.
