Fair enough. Still not a big fan of it.

We'll see what Demps does with the space, but what were your expectations of a Jack trade? I figure at best you'd get a pick in the late 20s.

My expectations were to hold on to him for as long as we could. I think a guy like Jack in the locker room and working every day in practice with two young PGs was a extremely vital element in the rebuilding of the team.

And personally I'm still not sold that Rivers can cut it as a PG in the NBA, but I will definitely take Demps and Monty's opinion over mine.

That was what I was expecting if we moved him on draft night.

In this draft, that could possibly have been Arnett Moultrie or Perry Jones III.

Lawson has been a pretty good PG and will make bank if he builds off his playoff performance from this past season. Dragic made what, like $9m/yr? Lawson is a better player.

And I'll miss Jack. He's not a world beater, but he was frequently underrated on this board. 17/7 last year with no talent around him. If he had played for us this year I could have seen him putting up similar numbers in fewer minutes with a better efficiency. Plus he was an amazing leader. So now Gordon is going to be the guy that rallies the youngins? He was watching fricking college basketball on the bench last year while Jack was cheering the team on when we had an awful record and were playing a close games with the likes of Toronto. He will be missed by me. Never forget:

And don't forget, Anderson is very dependent on being set up to get his points. The info may be wrong but I read on another site that only around 17% of his field goals were unassisted.

But obviously this is setting up another move. If we have $9m in cap space now, I think that Aminu for either Deng (not bad, but I don't know if I make that move) or Iggy (would be very nice) come up a bit short financially, so someone like Henry or Smiht would have to be included. I does free up enough money to do something like a 2nd rounder for Mozgov or Koufos (would love that) + a ham sammich for Rip Hamilton, who sort of expires after this season (team option in 13/14, but he has $1m guaranteed). He'd be a great option to back up the 2 and 3, plus probably play in crunch time at the 3.

But I certainly don't think that this was Shinn/Bower cost cutting move. I really think that we held onto Lewis for a little while instead of immediately waiving him was because we tried to package him for a big name player (remember that we were briefly connected to Pau). Something else is coming up.

Looks like this trade almost didn't happen. Warriors were going pretty hard after Lou Williams but he took less money to play in Atlanta.

He was awesome coming off the bench when Paul was here

Picks, plus cap space is an asset. For a team like Philly, who look to be moving on from Igoudala, being able to take him on without sending much salary back is attractive to them. Ditto for the Bulls and Deng.

Yeah, I wish we would have dealt Jack for a pick in this year's draft now. Oh well.

Regarding Denver, I don't know what they plan to do with McGee, but look for them to make some kind of trade. I believe Denver now has 14 players signed after they resigned Andre Miller and signed Fournier. Signing McGee would give them 15. That would leave Quincy Miller out. I think they'll make a deal to create some roster space. And that's something to remember if the Hornets would do a S&T with them -- they're not really looking for a package of several solid players. They don't have roster space or a need to do that.

Right, and once they re-sign McGee (which all indications say that they will), that would give them 4 very capable centers. Would love to get Mozgov or Koufos for a 2nd rounder.

It would be a come true if we can trade Aminu/a pick for Mosgov/Chandler

Chandler was pretty terrible last year. He'd be a risk with his long contract, but yeah, I'd definitely jump on that one. The Nuggets are a perfect trade partner for us, though, since they have a glut of centers and a fairly expensive backup SF.

Denver already have Brewer backing up Gallo at the three. I don't think it is out of the question that they would be willing to deal Chandler for a cheaper alternative. As for Mosgov, he will be an expiring which might be harder to get but I wouldn't mind Koufos if you switched the two.

I would love to have either I think I would like Deng more they are fairly similar if you look at them

Deng, 27, makes around 13 mil a year
he is 6' 9" averaged 15.3 points, 1.5 assists, 8.3 rebounds last year

Iggy, 28, makes around 14 mil a year
he is 6' 6" averaged 12.4 points, 5.5 assists, 6.1 rebounds last year

It still doesn't make sense to me why the Bulls or 76ers would trade us either but Demps got this

Man, this makes me sad. I loved the Gentleman. Never anything but loyal and happy to be here, great leader, and I'll never forget his shot against the Lakers in the playoffs

I'd love to see him do well
