265 at 30% body fat isn't exactly encouraging...

If Zion had 30% body fat he wouldn’t be weighing 265

He said in an interview earlier this off-season he ideally wants to be at 265 for his playing weight next season, but they don’t believe that is realistic so they are aiming for 270, but he will do everything he can to hit his 265 goal.
I will never understand any of the discussions regarding Zions weight. None of them makes any sense..

What’s unclear about this in particular?
To me, I think part of the weight loss journey for a professional athlete is probably not losing it too fast. You want to lose it at a certain pace and be able to maintain a certain level of strength. If you just drop 20 pounds in 3 weeks, it’s probably not the best move for a player like Zion.
That last 5 pounds might require him actually paying some nba games. Similar to what happened at Duke. Zion cut weight the last bit of his weight to reach his final Duke Zion form during that season.

We know. Didn't you say that Zion should be 235?

This move is far more brilliant then an injury voided contract.
This is fully in his control. Even if he gets hurt in some freak way out of his control, he can still maintain weight, stay somewhat in shape, and make his money.

Yeah, I did. I just believe that is the max of how much a basketball player his height should weigh.
Below is a picture of Danielle Hunter. He is listed at 6'5, 263lbs and has a BF% of around 7%. So, he is about an inch shorter than Zion. When people say jacked, that is what I think about. Would that style of physique work for a basketball player?

Lebron is about 2 inches taller than Zion and has reportedly played at anywhere between 250-280 lbs
Zion’s ideal weight is probably around 260.

I don't understand why 295.
Was Zion listed at 285 pounds when he was drafted right?
I would put below 285 tbh.

Because it's pounds plus body fat %, so if he came in at 285 lbs and 10% body fat, he would be at 295.
As I stated earlier, Zion obviously feels like 295 lbs+BF% is an easily attainable goal, because he wouldn't have agreed to it otherwise.
ETA: I also don't think the team wanted to throw out a number that would be hard for Zion to get to and maintain. There's no point in pushing him to 285 lbs+BF% if our health and nutrition team thinks that 295 is a number that he can play at and stay healthy.

James is 3 inches taller and normally sits around 250, although he has been fighting to stay under 250 the past few years, as he believes being lighter helps.
It was rumored that James was in the 270s while in Miami when he was noticeably bulkier. When he got to the Cavs he went on a strict diet to get back some quickness and help him play longer. He also supposedly got close to 280 when he was injured. But cut it back the next season.
He is a great person to single out though and compare to Zion. James is very strict and is now staying in that 250 range. I'd be ecstatic if that was a goal for Zion. Seems realistic.

You mean like a comfortable weight for him?
Athletes in peak playing condition aren't comfortable at that weight. Its where they are at their athletic peak. He might feel great at 260 or 270 and can still throw it down with power. Don't you think he might be better, faster and have more wind at 250?

If you really want to get nitpicky about it, he's 2.5 inches taller than Zion, "officially" without shoes they are listed as 6'6 and 6'8.5. LeBron's weight has never really been an issue even as he vacillated between 250-280.

Zion is 1 of 1, you can't really compare him to other athletes. LeBron is probably the closest physically to him, and Zion still appears to carry more lower body weight than LeBron.

Is there an injury clause in there where he doesn’t have to maintain this number if he gets hurt?

Chadboi, an NFL DB can be 12% bf easy. The fact that you think Zion is around there at 280 shows you are an idiot. Post 1000 more times on 5 different sports you don't know shite aboit, 985 Boi.

I'm really hoping for 194lbs but 100% bodyfat

The most accurate measurement of bf % is through autopsy so hopefully Chad can lead the way for Zion and get his measurement soon

If Chad is here he can’t be on saints talk talking about taysom though

I don’t think a guy his size will have less than 20% body fat.
Naz Reid (same draft class) measured at 6’9 and 255 with 14% body fat. He’s built different than Zion and I’d also taller/ weighs less.
I think 20% body fat and 275lbs is about where they want him to be. Anything over 270 25% and 275 20% is an issue. I think they’d like to get him at 260-270 with 20% body fat.
The key for me is how this will affect his offseason. If Zion is required to be at 275 or lower when preseason starts then he should continue to lose weight during the season. The point of this is that he doesn’t come into the season over weight and risking injury. If he is healthy playing 30 min a game there’s no way he gets back over 275.
