The top 4 players Cooper Flagg, Dylan Harper, Ace Bailey and Jakucionis all have all star/franchise game changing potential.

The next tier is all star level with I Demin, Tre Johnson.

This is not even counting on other potential fun talent like Derick Queen, VJ Edgecombe, Khaman Maluach, and Boogie Fland.

This draft class is deeeeeeep and as shitty as this season has been, if folks were paying attention to the team, THIS is the season to tank and get a potential franchise changer.

One of the things I like about our core is the flexibility. Assuming we ignore the fact that Zion is almost guaranteed to be back. Murray, Herb, Trey and Missi gives great length and athleticism. A 2, 3, or 4 can all work, and if there’s any chance of finding a high end two way player, that lineup can really sing. Flagg or Harper of course being the dream.

Agreed! I hope Zion is gone but I’m pretty sure BI is. We desperately need a franchise 2 guard/wing to team up with the players you mentioned.

Well, they are. The draft class being deep doesn't make watching the team any less painful.

Not to veer from the conversation, but I never really follow that line of thinking. I do think we messed up the end of Chris’s stay here, but we built a great team around him prior and he’s never won a championship in like 6 different stops. No team is going anywhere with AD as their best player. He’s only really had one great season, and that’s with possibly the greatest player of all time in a shorten season without fans. And Zion flat out has missed more games than he has played and has never been healthy at the end of a season. Nor is he a top ten player etc.

I don’t know, it just always strikes me as odd, as if this franchise has had this long line of great players.

I think most are. In 2022-2023 season there was a pretty healthy tank/no tank debate going. I don’t think anyone is debating this year. We need a top 4 pick in this draft.

Murray
Herb
Murphy
Flagg/Bailey/Harper
Missi

Is the rebuild core. That team quickly has cap space moving off of Zion/Ingram//CJ and future bucks picks which may yet prove worthwhile. That team almost certainly picks in the top 10 again next year as well.

Not sure about Ace. He shoots a lot of tough shots(Some he makes).... He is a good athlete for his height but not an elite athlete. He is like a 6'-10" RJ Barrett... which is hypothetically is a good player....but a lot of tough jumpers and not a lot of passing.

Aldo kind of reminds me of Jabari but Jabari is a far better defender

Willie Green would def turn Ace into a Jabari smith and shove him in the corner. I like ace a lot but need to see more from him with shot creation and ball handling. I think aces handle is better than Jabari’s was at auburn tho. Harper and Flagg are the clear 1/1a right now.

Edgecombe is back from injury and has had two solid games as well. Draft depth is starting to look stronger.

I have missed more games this year than I have TOTAL since before AD left... Every time I put them on or go to the game it just brings disappointment. We use to be entertaining when we lost... now we just lose and give up.

I wouldn't worry about Green coaching anyone next season. We will be cleaning house if we get a top lottery pick. That will begin with new management that will get to start anew..

I think the Demarcus Cousins Pelicans were going to be special and then he tore his Achilles' tendon.

We had an a hole on the team in Romdo . A leader and a person the floor that forced accountability .

We currently don’t have the top level talent that group had. We also don’t have a rondo . We have a bunch of nice guys . It’s a comfortable group and a soft group built by a soft POBO in a small market that craves a tough, hardworking, nasty team .
