If we can't get at least 20 games with BI/Zion from here on - is this a lost year?

So far we've learned nothing about how these two play together. This is, IMO, this season's worst-case scenario, other than career-ending injuries.
Most of us thought we would take a step forward and we'd see how well BI/Zion meshed. Instead, they've barely played together.
Hopefully, we get a small 20-game sample size and luck into the playoffs to see, or this is essentially, another lost season imo.
If we don't get that, at what point do we accept that these two are too fragile?
Crewz made a good point. Hoping one fragile guy turns it around and moves past the injuries is one thing. But we're hoping for two to do that.
We could be setting ourselves up for more disappointment next year if we have to spend next season determining if they can play together and stay healthy.
I'm really hoping we figure that out this year as best we can and adjust the strategy over the summer if necessary.

At this point I have zero faith in any of that. This team is done, with or without Zion. Zion will never ever be a player who will give you more than maybe half a season if you're lucky. Unless he can get his weight down to a much more manageable number(240ish). Him playing at 280 will never work!

ITs absolutely a lost year and this core needs to be reevaluated. 4 year is a large enough sample size. Its hard enough when zion has only played 114 games in 4 year but then combine that with BI who is also injury prone and its a recipe for failure. We cant rely on them to be healthy, so we need to trade one of them for either a star that can stay healthy or assets to go get another star

We were the 1 seed when healthy. I see a lot of folks making a lot of fake excuses about that. We had an easy schedule, pretty sure that's not true. Our remaining schedule is easier than the 1st 35 games. We were healthy while everyone else was injured. Also not true, we had a shite ton of injuries too. We were fricking good.
If healthy, we absolutely could have fought for a 1 seed, and if we don't get it, ok 2, 3 or 4.
Now we're gonna be in a fight just to make the playoffs. It's probably the very definition of a lost year.
Title windows are small. I think this is a bigger deal than some give it credit for.

Not there yet, not this offseason. But if we have anohther injury ruined season next year, it's complete panic time.
We could be setting ourselves up for more disappointment next year if we have to spend next season determining if they can play together and stay healthy.

Shamit floated trading BI this summer and while I’d be all for it I don’t see a trade out there that makes sense. I don’t see a realistic trade. I think the reality is we need to start load balancing them. They basically should barely play together (only to start and close games). Give each of them less minutes to help them hold up better.

I've long said BI and Zion desperately need to get on the court together because there will be a learning curve on how they play together, and once again, here we are with them only playing 241 minutes together so far. CJ and Trey have more than quadrupled that.
The sad thing is Zion and BI are +15.3 in those 241 minutes. They've been quite good together.

Can't wait to see the backlash on this one. It wasn't me that said it..

This bullshite needs to stop, he literally played 61 of 72 games his second season and was only shut down because we were out of the playoffs.
Motherfrickers try to act like he’s constantly injured when in reality he has only really had 2 fricking injuries besides this strain that every player gets.

I think the type of trade that would make sense for BI would be something like the Jazz got for Gobert but that will never happen again.
I'd argue the Jazz got not only the picks but ended up with the better players.
If we could swing BI for stone cold shooters, picks and an athletic big, I'm 100 percent in. But that's fantasy land.

And he did have the 1 season where he played 61 out of 72 games, but he was not shut down since we were out of the playoffs. He fractured a finger, so no need to say it was not due to injury when he went out at the end when it was injury.

He was playing through this, that is not the reason they shut him down. Griff did a whole arse press conference on that.

Im calling it what it is, 2 fricking injuries, one of them that makes it look like he missed more time than he did because they only played what 50 games that season?

He is constantly injured though. His second season is the outlier at this point. Do whatever you need to do to cope but zion has play 114 games so far. That is pathetic

They played 72 games his 1st and second year. not much of a difference. He has played 41% of all possible games not including play-in and playoffs. Thats not a franchise guy, i dont care how good he is when he plays. He doesnt play enough to build an actual team around

It's odd that Soggy is only willing to assign 2 injuries to Zion, which means he's assigning zero injuries to Zion this season where he likely plays less than 50 games.
What are we doing here?

BI cant hit 50 games played this year, zion most likely wont hit that. We've been failed 4 years by these guys. Im sick of it.

Youve also ignored the most important part. 2 fricking injuries does not make you “injury prone”
4 injuries a year every single year? Yeah
