Yeah again real teams look at these things and having one of the best players on the planet lets you take certain risks other teams can’t or won’t take.

And you’re still wrong

You’re legitimately saying a team will punt a game and risk having to play two more win or go home games because they are scared to play another game in a 7 game series lol

Actually...under his scenario...the Lakers would face "only one" win or go home game. It would be at home...vs the GS/Sac winner.

A first round sweep would look pretty ugly for him.

How would an elimination loss in the play-in look??

First of all lakers get only 2 play in games. Second I never said they WILL I stated they would think about it. Watch the AD injury- that would be a huge tell.

The nuggets have OWNED the lakers. 8 straight losses including a sweep in the playoffs and most games have not been close. A win tuesday means first round sweep but gamble to win at home on Friday may mean deep playoff run. This isn’t some crazy take especially when again you have Lebron.

Not as bad as another sweep by the nuggets. Bron fans would say oh it was just one game bad luck. A sweep by the nuggets again would be embarrassing. And it likely will be a sweep.

So losing to the defending world champs in the playoffs would be worse than not actually making the playoffs? And any idiot who said well it’s just one game would be reminded by anyone with a brain that it wasn’t one game, it was an 82 game schedule where they weren’t good enough to make the top 6. That, for LeBron would be embarrassing.

You’re assuming NBA media/twitter has a brain. Your take is not wrong but this is about perception. You can easily spin losing a play-in game and say its just luck or other team had a hot shooting night. But to get swept in first round or to lose 12 games in a row and perceivable 8 playoff games to the nuggets- thats a more damaging take.

Whether it’s realistic or not, they consider themselves a title contender, which means they are almost surely going to get Denver at some point.

Denver and healthy Phoenix are bad matchups for them. They would prefer OKC and then Dallas (who has a great shot of beating the Clippers). Then you have to only play one of Denver / Phoenix to get to the finals.

The Lakers were 0-4 against Sacramento and 1-3 against Golden State this year.

Anthony Davis is 0-10 all time against Sabonis.

But yeah, they'll purposefully put their whole season on the line for 1 game against one of them.

That has got to be the stupidest question ever asked on this site?

Are you a grownup or does your shoes have those little lights that flicker when you walk?

I think this is something that Lebron and AD are absolutely discussing right now.

Yall are freaking nuts. They matchup well against us and have sucked against the two possible teams they would have to play if they lose to us. They are not going to risk not getting in the playoffs and it's pretty obtuse to think otherwise.
