Too many missed free throws and Lue's shortened exhausted bench had the same result as the Minnesota game. Trust the youth and the bench. The Pels did and now they advance.

From the clips board… we went 13/25 from the FT line they are blaming their loss on missed free throws when the team that beat them shot barely 50%

If we make free throws that’s a 15 point win.

the clippers trade wasn’t that bad...although it seems like every team that has traded RoCo has regretted it. He seems like a player that you can lean on during a rough stretch

Otherwise yes they gave CJ and nance away for a pick 3 years away and josh hart. Not good asset management. That pick isn’t going to help them any time soon and hart is not going to move the needle on a bad team. They needed that lottery pick this draft and they got fuct

Neither player has any more value than that. They got off the salaries which was what they wanted, neither player was in their future and are just guys (with specific talents, but not 1st round return value).

CJ is a star

What?

Roco is a solid 3/D guy

Powell is a starter at 1-3 on a good team.

They dealt BOTH for a 2nd round pick

they’re just guys dude.
you get what you can when you are dumping salary. The return wasn’t great but it doesn’t matter, they weren’t getting anything good for them anyway. It was a salary dump

I do feel sorry for Portland that they didn't get what was fair value for CJ

And I HATE that we gifted another lottery pick to OKC.

HATE HATE HATE it

And that is the problem with salary dumps.

You are selling guys for pennies on the dollar to clear the books OR you are having to attach sweeteners to shite contracts to move them.

Portland got what they wanted by clearing the books in a season with no Dames. They just didn’t get what they could have because they prioritized saving money over assets (players or picks).

they got Keon Johnson (1st round guy on a rookie contract) as well as the 2025 2nd from LAC. And massive salary relief

like you said, you either choose the salary dump or you take players back you have to pay. They chose the dump. You can’t have it both ways if you are trying to rebuild

the clippers trade was fine, it accomplished their goal. The CJ trade was sexual assault

They had just traded Gary Trent and Rodney Hood for Powell on an expiring contract.

so?

they did that when they were trying to win. Now they aren’t. Things change, nothing is 100% black and white. If there were a 1st out there for roco and Powell they’d have taken it. As it is they got a previous 1st (Keon)

so?

Because in 11 months you flipped good assets for a maybe(Johnson isn't even that highly thought of a prospect).

That's the thing, they still kinda are. They were reportedly marking our pick to trade for a high level vet, Jerami Grant was mentioned as the target. Gary Trent or Norm Powell or Robert Covington are all better trade assets for chasing someone like Grant than Keon Johnson and a 2nd.

Myself and some others were quietly pulling for CJ. We made a bad trade but we sent CJ to where he wanted to go. He earned that. I’m more appalled over the Norman and RoCo trade to LAC.
