Jrue has chronic injury issues.

All we know right now is that they went against doctors orders on the treatment last year and received poor results. If we don't hear about his stress fracture between January and when it's time to resign him in a year and a half, I think we can stop worrying about it.

Bomb this year. Get #1 pick. Take Simmons.

Trade everyone, don't take on any new salary beyond 2017. 2017 sign Westbrook and Durant.

Westbrook
?
Durant
Simmons
Davis

As much as people talk about Golden State and San Antonio's offense, they have had top 3 defenses when they were winning/competing for titles. The new direction in defense, which Golden State is leading the league towards, is versatile defenders that can guard multiple positions and switch freely on the NBA's go to play, the Pick and Roll. I don't want defense only guys like Aminu, but 2 way players that can guard 2-3 positions should be the core of the team.

To me that means AD/Jrue/QPon/Dante can stay. I don't know much about Morris, but he would seem to fit the criteria as well.

I agree, there is a lot of different paths we could take but I think whichever way we go it needs to be in the direction of more two way players and less streaky one way players.

I think Morris is kinda inevitable if the Suns don't get a better offer.

I also expect Evans and Jrue to stay. If they take off in Gentry's system, Demps will see it as vindication, if not, they will be hard to trade.

I said it before but one guy I would like to bring in this offseason is Jared Dudley. Should come relatively cheap and he is currently defending the 2 to the 5 for the Wizards. Smart veteran who never turns down the chance to share how much he believes in analytics driven basketball like Gentry runs.

I think his analytics are superficial at best.

Step 1: fire AG.
Step 2: ???
Step 3: championship.

Whether he is using it day to day to get feedback IDK. Given that we keep starting Asik I have to wonder, but Gentry ball - or ideal Gentry ball - is essentially the current consensus amongst seemingly most analytical minds of the optimal principles to run an offense.

GynoSandberg you bring up some good points but Benson demanded a win NOW plan (for obvious reasons) so that's what Dell attempted to do. Who knows how this team would have been without injuries that nuked the team. It's been 3 years and we still haven't seen what the CORE of the team can do together for an extended period. It's kind of sad actually

C - Athletic guy in the mold of Nerlins or Clint Capela.
PF - AD duh
SF - Q-Pon....proven leader off the floor
SG - Need 3 point specialist to make up for no offense from Q...Honestly EG would be ok
PG - Really need stability here. Think Darren Collison would be a good fit and could probably get him from Sac.

why the heck isn't AD the CENTER on everyone's team?!

he has Center height and length. he can guard almost every C in the league with the exception of a Gasol. his whole appeal is he can be a 4 or a 5.

okay:

rebuild:

trade Anderson for Morris. he's your 4.
package Gordon. targets:

Dennis Schroeder/Hardaway ATL
Oladipo/Aaron Gordon ORL

amass picks and work on a free agent for cap space.

Schroeder MAYBE but ATL loves him.

There is no one the Pels can offer other than AD himself to get Oladipo.

I really think Darren Collision would be a good fit.

Schroeder is underperforming in ATL and could be had.

Oladipo is now on the 2nd unit in Orlando.

I think Dipo to the second unit isn't a performance thing but a fit thing. He and Payton both shoot too poorly to start together. Dipo runs their second unit.

so one year s first round pick doesn't mesh with the earlier year's first round pick, and that earlier pick is moved to a position played by this year's first round pick, he seems untradable to you?

I think you try for him. I don't think a single player on Orlando is untradable.

Orlando isn't trading Gordon or oladipo for anybody not named harden or durant. You're just making shite up that's not even remotely possible. If you like a trade with the magic then Channing frye is your target. They are stacked with young talent just starting to play well together and their core is going to need to get paid in short order

I didn't say that he's untradeable. I'm saying they're finally learning to stagger their lineups to have a better offensive option on the court. I doubt the Magic views anyone on their team as untradeable. Are they going to want to get rid of a guy like Oladipo for Gordon or Anderson who are going to need a new contract and neither brings them any closer to a playoff team? We'd have to throw in our first round pick, which then makes it a bad trade for us.

Doesn't seem like a realistic target for us.

Evan Fournier is the only guy from the Magic that I'd want and would be ok with losing our 1st round pick for.

Vucevic too, but I have no idea how good of a defensive player he is.

so if you were the magic you'd trade Fournier for Gordon and a 1st rnd pick?
I think the pels would but I doubt Orlando would
