Is he a True PF in this league?

A hybrid SF/Pf?

A point forward type player?

A small ball 5?

I don’t think there’s really a need to classify it.

Well in my opinion it’s a bit important when we’re sitting here debating what type of assets and positional talents to surround him with.

Offensively can play the 3-5, defensively can guard the 1-5.

Will be able to take the ball up the court and go on a fast break. I mean I dunno how you label him. He isn't a true PF, isn't a C, isn't a SF. He is just versatile as shite, and that's great.

I’d say Point Forward that can play small ball 5 is a close one.

I'd say either a 3 or 4 that can act like a 5. Similar to AD but Zion can easily play at the 3 and drive the lane much more efficiently than AD. He's going to be so good

He’s a big, ideally he needs to be surrounded by shooters, ala Giannis in Milwaukee.

He’ll play majority of his minutes at the 4, then small ball 5. Won’t see very many minutes at the 3.

He probably best identifies as a Classic Rebounding Power Forward that gets his baskets around the rim. Like a Blake Griffin or a Shawn Kemp. But Zion also has playmaking potential like Larry Johnson & Charles Barkley.

I wish he could play on the perimeter like a sf, but I’m afraid his ball handling won’t allow him to on offense, and I wonder if he can truly guard 1-3 regularly. I hope he can, but that’s a tall order at the NBA level.

I definitely think he can and will guard wings at a high level. I'm not too worried about his ball handling either as he's a high IQ guy that's passing ability is quite advanced for his age.

Huge believer in positionless basketball, but even that leaves this guy as 90% PF, with the other 10% dependent on matchups, IMO. Not tall enough for true bigs, too stocky for quicker SFs. With that said, I think the whole point is about other teams matching up with him. He should be too quick for most PFs, and too bulky for others.
