I think we have a legit shot at the playoffs this year.

How big of an improvement will these young guys take after two off seasons and one season of play.

The laker players already have some experience.

The best part of our franchise right now is that we have space to breathe. There is no pressure to make a huge playoff push this year, or next year really. We just have to be patient and enjoy the journey.

That said, we can absolutely make the playoffs this year as the bottom half of seeding is competitive, but wide open. Second year success, to me, would to be to make playoffs and be competitive in the series. Anything past that is icing on the cake in our timeline.

IMO, we can make the playoffs with Zion not being a top 5 player for us this year

6 seed would be my guess. And that’s great in the new west.

By Zion’s third year I would say, hopefully the team can start making deep runs into the playoffs. Otherwise, then heavy changes may have to be made to the roster at that point.

We have a shot this season but I don’t think it’s a probability. A year from now, We should be dangerous, especially with a couple of tweaks to the roster. Griff isn’t done yet.

Guitar- You have it right...this is not a win at all costs team this year, we have a chance to watch and enjoy over the next 2 years probably the youngest team with the most potential. For once, management is doing it correctly!

This season: borderline playoff team

Next season: win a playoff series

I see us as a borderline playoff team this year, we make a 1st round exit next yr, and win 1 or more playoff series the following. To me, that seems like realistic expectations.

If Zion and at least one other young player progresses quickly, this could be accelerated. I like the Jrue and Favors core and we appear to have great depth.

Because of our style and expected pace, I honestly wouldnt be shocked to see us end up around a 5 seed this yr. Many teams dont like to exert that much effort during regular season games, so we could play above our level (reg season only).

This years trading deadline might be interesting. If we're not competing I think there's a chance Ingram or Ball gets moved.

That being said, not even in a "win now" mode, I think this team is competing for a 7-8 seed just bc of the talent on the roster.

I see no reason we have to make the playoffs next year in order for our future to be extremely bright. We are building our culture and core in this first year, anything extra like playoffs is lagniappe. We certainly can make them this season, but the season can be a success without them. As much talent and depth as we have, they are mostly so young.

Think it really depends on Lonzo and Ingram.
