As in who guards who?

The only matchup that really makes sense is Holiday on Thompson, while Curry is out

Mirotic on Draymond or KD?

Tough matchups

Might move E’Twuan to the bench and let Solo start so he can guard KD. Abuse whoever starts at the 5 for GS.

When GS goes small with Durant and Dray as their bigs then AD should guard Durant. Jrue sticks Klay. Niko takes Draymond/plays free safety.

I think that's our best chance of slowing them down

It is KD - there are no good ideas.

Keep running an gunning and playing great defense. That’s the best shot we have.

Both of these teams might hit the 130s in the same game two or three times. These game are going to be fun to watch if you like offense. Look away if you hate defenses being torched.

W/o Curry we should go Rondo in Iggy, Etwaun on Klay, Jrue on KD, Mirotic on Draymond and AD on javale. Hopefully AD can control the paint. Could do the same with Curry in as well.

When we played them earlier this month it was:

Rondo on Cook
Moore on KT
Jrue on KD
AD on Green
Mirotic on Looney

I thought we matched up better with Portland bc they had an immobile big and like to play small when he is sitting, things we murder.
Golden State has KD which is a big problem matchup wise. We got nobody. Solo Hill ain't guarding him, so no use in sending him out there and taking Moore off the floor. I think you either punt there and put Moore on him or have Jrue try to do something. Jrue is best on smaller speed guys. He is longer but just as quick. We will struggle with that KD matchup.
AD matches up great with Draymon. He can plant in the middle and make Draymon shoot 3's and clog the lane for the other guys, like we did against Portland.
As long as Curry is out, I think it's a push matchup. Add Curry in with his off ball picks, shot, and pump and drive, and they have an advantage.

I would go super unconventional and put Jrue on Klay, Moore on Iggy, AD on KD, Mirotic on McGee and then Rondo on Green.

Draymond loves to create at the top of the circle, and Rondo could press him and take that away. If Golden State wants to throw away their whole offense for Draymond post ups, then so be it. I will live with that.

The big issue is that everyone will have to help team rebound if AD is 15 feet from the rim but every strategy has a downside. This strategy has the smallest one IMO

In the game they won at Oracle KD had 4 TOs and Draymond had 7. As active as the whole team was on defense during the Portland series and the way Golden State is prone to TOs, forcing TOs would be one of my main goals. Beat them with more possessions. It's how the Pels usually lost games earlier in the season as points off turnovers for the opposing team became one of Joel's go to stats to talk about.

Just count on warriors to throw the ball away 8 or 10 times, just showing off.

They'll dig a 14 point hole.

Junior high playground, behind the back to opponent.
That's been the m.o. All season.
They did it vs spurs in game 4.

Take 2 before curry returns.

I get that, doesn't mean you have to use the worst idea.

Well then let’s let our 6’4” SG guard their 7’0” freak for the whole series.

You’re not stopping KD, you’re just trying to make him uncomfortable while not having your entire team foul out in the process. Jrue is far too important to the Pels to have him guard KD for 32 minutes a night.

I hope we experiment with a couple of different match-ups on KD this series and go with what sticks. I'd like to see Solo, AD, Holliday, and possibly Liggins take turns guarding KD and whoever has the most success stick with them. I don't know if I particularly want to see AD guard him the whole time, however, because he's going to get gassed.

Whoever. Of the five players who started for GSW round 1, he’s probably your 4th concern. Maybe 3rd, but he’s not a player you change your lineup to account for.
