droman etc . . . why not see if people want to rename Hornets Talk to something other than Pelicans Talk = Saints Talk Jr.
Do like poster of the year, send it to Chicken / mods, and see if they don't ignore it.

We've been fighting just to get him to add in a simple code for a Hornets favorite team logo and we never got the board logo change we voted on, plus Carl Landry is still the featured player on the board image. We'll take whatever name we can get.

Chicken would never go for that. For purposes of search engine optimization he's made a push over the past 2 years of descriptive titles on every thread and keeping the boards focused on their topic. Unless this became a more general NBA board, Pelicans would undoubtedly be the lead part of the name. Talk is probably the only part of the phrase that could be up for discussion.

This is the corner I want to be in. Just more pizzazz. Pizzazz comes with the potential price of looking amateurish . . . which I say is accurate! . . . but others may take themselves more seriously.
In case people can't tell, I view this team as a part of the community, a valued one. The business is basketball, but I eye the asset. I see it as New Orleans first, and I like to play tiny-watchdog on such matters. The basketball stuff is incidental. If it was an MLB team, I'd follow it the same way. Enough people eyeball the Saints for there to be no need for such a role for them these days.
At any rate, that's the long-way-round of why I'd prefer the name to be structured that way.

So argue for Pelican Perch.
While making that change, they can change the image.
Make it easier to do the thing you like, serve it up, etc., and maybe it'll happen.
It is generally less likely that you get what you want if don't try.

You can't go too cutesy, but if this becomes more than a hobby for any of you, it won't be because of the name, it will be because you're putting out unique content people want to consume. Just like with the team rebranding, in time the identity will be the product that is put out, not the name and logo.

Pelican Post and Pelican Press are both double entendres relevant to media/news and basketball. I think I prefer Post.
