While his 2% percentage isn't very good, the real reason why his overall shooting percentage is so low, is because he shoots 75% of his shots from 3.

ETA: just for the sake of accuracy, for his career he shoots 64% of his shots from 3.

to be fair, 75% of his shots come from 3 where he hits 37%

His first year numbers really bring that percentage down.

His past two years he was 37%+ from 3. Should be better from midrange and around the rim though.

He’s a good player. Lonzo is better but Lonzo is 100% gone imo so it’s just about finding a replacement and how.

I don't buy into this. Goes against everything the franchise has done this offseason.

And whats the number Griffin is ready to pay Graham, that he wouldn't just pay Lonzo?
I don't think the paying Lonzo is the problem, I think it's the Rich Paul bitch that is Lonzo's agent, so if Lonzo doesn't want to be here, he'll just throw a fit, not play, etc...

the argument doesn't hold water when his 2% is .380 and his 3% is .375

Is it still 2012? Who cares about shooting percentages anymore? You realize that he’s a high volume 3 pt shooter and had a 55% TS this past season correct?

Y’all can sugar coat anything

Volume player on a bad team who came into the league way older than the median rookie

K

Graham is a good player. He isn’t a great one by any stretch. There’s many guys I’d rather have come including Lonzo. But any guy we bring in will be judged in the totality of what we do this whole offseason.

We can make a lot of room. What if Graham is relatively cheap and we also bring in a Dinwiddie and other guys?

Just wait and see.

well the question is if it's better than nothing or like a 2nd round pick and a small TPE that will likely only help with MLE guys who haven't lived up to the contract. like literally the question is if he's a negative player (b/c the alternative may be effectively 0)

This board is really trying to convince itself that a 6’1 guard who can’t shoot or play defense is a good player

There's no world in which Devonte Graham is the lead guard on a good team.

A 6ft chucker that shoots sub-40% and plays no defense?

Right. Again, Graham is very far from a top option to start at PG for me.

But let's look at the deal he gets, and all of the other moves we make, and then judge it.

His usage rate was only slightly higher than Lonzo's. He isn't a high usage player at all. High assist rate, low turnover rate. Gets to the free throw line much more than Zo and hits 82% of them.

He and Zo have very similar advanced stats. I think he is marginally better than Lonzo, but a much better fit for this team. I think this S&T actually makes sense, but I don't think it's a needle mover or our biggest move.

Maybe I framed it incorrectly, the fact that his shooting percentage is 38% isn't as bad, because he takes the vast majority of his shots from 3.

He's still averaging 1.2 points per shot, even with a terrible shooting percentage. He's more efficient than Lonzo, even though Lonzo's percentages look better.

Why do people assume that Graham wouldn't be flipped for something else?
