The three point shot he blocked on PG that he took in for a slam was unbelievable.

DPOY is always going to a shot blocker, it’s just how it is. Whether that means Gobert is clearly better than Herb is debatable. But he’ll certainly get more votes.

Holy crap, Wemby has 74 Steals and 197 Blocks. That's 271 Stocks. The next closest is Anthony Davis with 227.

I would legit vote wemby DPOY over gobert. What he does is unreal. I saw a stat and im gonna butcher it but the spurs have the worst or 2nd worst defense over the course of the season but when wemby is on the floor they have something like a top 5 or top 10 defense.

We better win fast because barring injury wemby is going to dominate this league. I think he’s already a top 20 player and this is the worst he’ll be

ETA The wolves are loaded with great defenders. Ant, mcdaniels, Naw, Kyle Anderson, and even KAT has been good this year. Gobert is not the reason they are the best defense in the league, it’s a combination of all those guys

Agreed Gobert deserves it and will win it but it would be nice if Herb got some votes. Its amazing we lost Dyson and our defense has continued to be outstanding- thats a big kudos to Herb in carrying that load for us.

It always goes to a big guy / shot blocker now.

It’s kind of lame, perimeter defenders have a much harder job than guys like Wemby and Gobert who rarely have to guard the ball and hang around the paint compiling blocks and steals because they’re gigantic

ETA: this read like I was insinuating what Gobert and Wemby do isn’t impressive, that’s not what I meant. My point was that what guys like Herb do is more difficult

PG probably sees Herb in his nightmares. My recollection is that Herb has done similar things to him on multiple occasions.

I thought I remembered Paul George praising Herb’s talent over the last couple of seasons.
