I guess shoot your shot and try to get him to sign a long deal. Why not? If he does get AD to sign, that means he will be all in. And we haven’t seen AD play all in i don’t think ever. AD playing 150% all game every game is a scary thought. And if AD tells us to frick off, send his arse packing and let’s rebuild a monster

This is kind of a given.

Even if it doesn't take, the image that we're trying to sell AD on staying here means that teams have to price that into any offer since we wouldn't be going "Someone please take this a-hole."

The relationship between AD, his teammates, and the fans seems to be beyond repair IMO

its only interesting due to the fact of griffin's obvious long term relationship he's had with rich paul.

If LeBron can go back to Cleveland after that fiasco, anything can happen.

I hope AD comes back and brings the kick-arse with him

I'll say it again. I don't want him back.
Only way i'll accept him staying is if he signs the supermax AND he's able to help lure a top FA in this offseason. If he can't do that, i'm not committing $40M a year to a quitter that can't even elevate his team to a frickin .500 record on a regular basis.

They cut up with him all game on the bench. Even if they didnt care for him, most arent part of the long term plan anyway

Season ticket renewal rates are at an all time low with AD's imminent departure. I think the fans who go to games just want a winner

New hypothetical....

AD decides to stay and the Pelicans land the #1 pick. Do you?

A.) Draft Zion
B.) Trade down to #2 and draft Ja
C.) Trade it for All-Star caliber player and filler
D.) Other

ETA: Dumb question is dumb. Forgive me. Still drunk off the Griffin presser.

That's not a hypothetical. whoever wins the lottery on May 14th is picking Zion, end of discussion.

Exactly. People on this board seem to think they are the majority, when they are the VAST minority.

The majority of the people who pay for tickets don't know 1% of the stuff that the people on this board know. One article in the newspaper where AD apologizes and/or it is implied that Griffin signals the Pels are serious (while Dell was a joke), and all those people buy back in. Even if those on this board don't

...unless he says: "I really am convinced this franchise is heading in a direction I can get behind. I have always loved New Orleans and its people. There were other reasons I thought I could not live with. Those reason are now gone. And I am a hundred percent dedicated to this franchise."

People would love it immediately.

Kind of like when the ultra hot girlfriend says, "maybe we should see other people."

Then two days later says, "I am so wrong, we should be exclusive."

I have to remind myself the world is full of idiots. Even i am an idiot at times I can admit, but for the most part, the general public are idiots and can be very easily swayed.

And for them its just a hobby, not an obsession. I am sure there are some TV shows you watch that you know everything about and remember every episode, know the actors real names, etc. And some that you watch that you tune into from time to time for entertainment and don't think about for a single second outside of that.

The majority of people who attend games are the latter. They go for an entertaining night out, something to bring the kids to, a place to get drunk, etc. Then they go home and don't think about it until the next game

98% Davis is enough.

Now that the Lakers are a joke maybe Davis accepts the money.
Ingram = Bosh = celebrity death watch.
Lonzo is a project.
Lavar is a jerk.
LeBron is getting old.
MGMT is in disarray.
Magic ran off. This counts.

The shine is off.

Maybe i'm still not past the point of forgiving, and maybe i can get there one day but i really don't want him back.

That being said, i'll add that Kobe made a very public trade request, and that was after he basically gave everyone the middle finger in game 2 of the playoffs with Phoenix when he got tired of people telling him stuff for shooting so much, so he did his best to not shoot in that Game 2 blowout. They seemed to welcome him back with open arms.
I'm sure i can get over it eventually with AD. I"m just not ready right now.

I just think you pretty much have to sit down with AD if your a new guy coming in. You may already have plans to move him or he may still want to leave but you have to at least talk to the guy. It’s just business and you can at least use it for leverage.
