Nothing earth shattering but a few interesting nuggets from my memory:

- It started with a question about how good BI played against Charlotte, but before answering about BI, Griff talked about CJ completely changing his shot profile thanks to Borrego and playing more off ball and shooting more 3s.

- I find it interesting that he led with that because he then went on to say that the team wants BI to shoot more 3s and they were pleased that he did the other night and the results speak for themselves.

- He was basically saying without saying that CJ is bought into shooting more 3s and less bullshite midrange and that they want BI to be too.

- Talked about how Hawkins was a complete basketball player, not just a shooter.

- Said that they traded down in the Trey draft because their targets were gone and they went down to 17 hoping Trey would be there.

- Said that Zion responded to the failure in the IST and has been doing more conditioning the last 6 weeks and you can see it in the steals, blocks, improved defense he's playing.

- Talked about the big three still learning how to play with each other and not just take turns.

- Lastly, AD talked about how this time of year was so hard with trade rumors, etc. Griff said it's not hard and he likes it because they are a family and they all want to get better. Used Kira as an example. They loved him but this trade gives him a better opportunity because we have so much depth (yeah, Griff and the whole luxury tax thing, haha).

Anyway, I thought it was good. Griff basically addressed a lot of the things fans talk about. He sees it too. It's just a matter of getting BI to buy into playing the right way and Zion to get in shape.

I really think players have too much power, especially ones that aren't good enough to yield THAT much power.

What do I mean by that? Whether it's Griff or Willie, they've told us over and over a nd over and over and over that they want BI to shoot more 3s. BI does not shoot more 3s...

So what's the consequence for BI? At some point, there needs to be a consequence if he's not doing the thing you ask him to do.

He sold us a lot of bullshite about offseason Zion too that wasn't true. I'm definitely over the "Zion is close" stuff. Great, we're almost at game #50, I'm supposed to be happy that he's finally in shape for the season? Nah, I'm good.

Its crazy to me that BI doesn’t get that this style is not just good for the team but its good for him personally stat wise and his career. He starts playing this way his numbers will just continue to jump. Its his hold on his mid range style which is holding him back jumping to another level offensively. Hopefully he learns from the hornets game and doesn’t try match middie for middie with KD/Booker.

Huh? They made the trade 2-3 days before the draft even occurred.

I think, if I recall correctly, they were looking to move up in that draft and probably felt like they couldn't so I think that's what he means by targets not being there because they would have been gone by the 10th pick...and probably thought that, at the time, taking Trey at 10 would have been too high so was hopeful he'd fall to 17 which he did.

Someone on twitter pointed out Boreggo and Fred Vinson celebrating after BI hit a pull up transition 3. LINK

It's just so patronizing to the fans, but more importantly to Zion.

Like I get it, he still has some immature qualities, but Zion is not a kid in the NBA anymore, but Griff still talks about him like he's a rookie.

Fred Vinson

It's still crazy to me that this dude has been the one constant with this franchise among 4 different coaching regimes, yet he has never been a "first row" assistant.

You just don't see that in the NBA.

The Murphy answer made no sense since we traded down the day before the draft. Maybe he means whoever they were going to target @10 was definitely going to be selected before they fall to us.

The only way it would remotely make sense is if he knew which players had promises from the first 9 teams the day before the draft.

Could be plausible they were targeting Wagner.

I think that’s what he meant. If I remember correctly there was some clamor about us trying to move up in that draft, but I’m not sure who that target was though.

I think we also liked Franz too. Maybe we knew with the double magic picks he wasn’t going to fall to us?

Rumor that draft was to move up for kuminga or Wagner. Moody was another one I remember us hearing.

We ended up with trey. I'm happy. Could have even sengun but to think it's a guarantee he develops like this here is wishful.

I'd praise if he didn't shoot it at all.
He sucks at them, and always has. 29% this year, 32% the year before, 21% before that and 30% before that. It's a bad shot for him. The second BI dribbles the ball his 3P% goes from 40% to 30%.

BI is 48% on pull up 2's. It's more effecient for him to not take that 3 and instead take one of the hated mid range shots.

I'm officially in the "hey Shaq used the reg season to get into shape then dominated the playoffs" camp re: Zion
