Bridges and Claxton are the guys you offload the haul for. Make Brooklyn say no.

JV+Graham+Herb+maybe even Dyson+ ample amount of picks

If the Nets aren't blowing it up, and their roster looks a little too solid for that, then they aren't just going to give Claxton away for future assets. They'd need a legit center back. I actually do wonder though if they would have interest in JV.

Their new roster is unbalanced and skews towards defense. I don't think it's crazy to think that they could use JV's offense and rebounding. Not that they'd do a 1 for 1 swap of JV for Claxton, but JV and pick for Claxton might be attractive to the new Nets.

Herb/Dyson/3 1sts/salary filler is what I'd give for Bridges/Claxton.

I don't know if Brooklyn would or even if they should, but it would make them think about it.

Keep dyson, add more picks to make up for it.

The data you presented doesn’t support what I said either.
That’s great that he is rebounding at a high rate. Evan Mobley does as well at 215lbs. Doesn’t mean he can guard Jokic and Ayton, or bang with Adams and Zubac

The data suggests that Nic Claxton can battle on the boards with opposing players as well as mostly anybody. You're bringing up guys that are exceptions to the rule, not the norm. Who does guard Jokic? Adams has led the NBA in offensive rebounds the last two years, who does bang with him effectively?

I'm more worried about the other 26-28 teams than the few exceptions and elite players in the league.

Bridges shoots better. Misses fewer games. Gets paid less.

He's on a team that's in asset accumulation mode. He only has one more year on his deal after this season. Why would he stay on a team that is likely terrible after next season? Would they rather lose him for nothing, or trade him when they can get an asset back for him?

Absolutely. Throw JV in as well. He’s better than fricking Jae Crowder

Also just saw we’re still trying for OG

Would much rather throw the assets for OG at Bridges. At least Bridges doesn’t want a larger role like OG

Agreed

Cheaper, better shooter, better defender, doesn't miss games.

We could do something like:

Pelicans:

Claxton

Nets:

JV
1 first

Spurs:

Harris
2 seconds from Pels

The Spurs are still almost 16 million under the minimum salary floor. This would also help the Nets get under the tax this season (not 100% sure on what they need to drop salary-wise for that, but this gets them 12.5 mil in salary relief).

I think it’s more important to worry about the teams that can beat us in a playoff series. I could give two shits about beating the Indiana Pacers. We can beat them with or without JV or Claxton.

Jokic has had to go through two playoffs in a row with a very unhealthy team. They stay healthy and they are the team to beat.

CLAXTON AND BRIDGES.

Both of these guys would fit in like a glove both talent and personality wise. Claxton plays with fire and is from South Carolina. Bridges knows his role and is friends with guys already on the team. DO IT!!!

Give them all the picks

Can't see them trading Claxton. I think Bridges is a longshot as well unless overwhelmed by an offer.

Gotta just give them an offer they can’t refuse. If the grizzlies get bridges, we’re in big trouble

He's 23 and they have not completely tanked. He is part of the asset accumulation.

Is he an asset if he walks away after next season for nothing?

They are a team made up of a bunch of 3rd (or likely 4th) options. They are at best a play-in level team.

Everyone around us is improving. I would sit tight and maybe we make a move in the final minutes.

This year doesn’t matter, they can still end up with a high pick. But I’d think they’d want to add to those two for years down the life
