That's part of it, there will always be more support when winning.
But more importantly, there will be more support when the team is showing that they're trying to win. It's hard for casual fans to get excited about a team that's tanking or when players are mailing it in or clearly don't want to be here. Give them something to be excited about and the players are bought in, and the fans will rally behind them.

We got so lucky coming in through the play in because none of the National media realizes that we are way better than a normal 8 seed. This series was gonna be a fight with or without Booker, we’re just gonna have to make people see it
