No doubt. This team is light years ahead of where uncle al had us and our best basketball is in front of us.

Woke up still pissed. That’s a rarity. We have a history of blowing big leads against the pacers. Had like a 20 something point lead on them in the third about 5 years ago in a game I went to. Lost that game.

You all made many great points on the reasons why we lost tonight, but please do not look past our turnovers. If we take care of the basketball, we win this game easily. Many times in this game, we turned the ball over basically due to a lack of focus. In my opinion, we are in waaayy better shape than we were last year.

After a good night's sleep Stan straight up lost us that game. He should've called timeout after the first made 3 to cut it to 3. That's situational basketball 101.

What kills me as well is that we went on a fricking 17-2 run in the 4th and lost in ot.

It sucks we lost but I see a lot of positives from tonight.

Yup a learning experience like this with 65 games to go against an Eastern Conference team is way better than this game down the stretch against a Western Conference team in a playoff battle.

From minute ~7 to 1:30 left we played outstanding basketball, getting a nice lead after being down 7.

If anything Zion, BI, and Adams showed that they can be a solid core. Zo, overall, had a solid game 18/6/6 on 7/11 and 4/6 from 3, just 1 too many turnovers. Just need role players to do their role a little better and this team can make some noise.

I agree we are a better team but this was a huge problem last year and continues to be a problem now. Last night looked very much like a gentry team to me. Poor coaching, lack of focus, and lack of hustle

If they had just chopped the lead up and raced past us for the win, I'd agree, its good learning experience.

But thats not what happened. They literally blew the game with little league level mistakes.

Not being able to make a clean inbound pass. SVG and the players blowing obvious TO calls.

To me, there's nothing learned from that loss last night because they know why it happened. Its just a blown game.

What they should learn from this is that the game is 48 minutes, not 46. This loss should be painful because they gave it away in so many different ways, but largely because they went against the new identity of playing hard and not making mistakes. Granted the "not making mistakes" part of the new identity is very much a work in progress, but that is what they are striving for and this should highlight why it's so important.

I agree. Teams make runs and most games don't end in blowouts, but we've established an early trend of letting teams back into games that should be over already.

Also, I went back to check the last Toronto game and SVG botched the late game timeout situation in the exact same way he did vs Indiana.

Toronto scores to cut the lead to 2 points with six seconds left and SVG decides not to call TO. Bledsoe gets trapped on the baseline and ALMOST turns the ball over. He gets it to Ingram, who ices the game. That was almost another disaster.

Van Gundy has to get his shite together.

Sadly, the learning experience is that you cannot count on a veteran coach to make simple moves at the end of a game such as calling timeout to advance the ball. Sad.

That’s also sort of what I would expect my assistants to be catching if the head coach is consumed with some minutiae going on in the game itself.

It’s not an excuse, but at the same time, why the frick isn’t Bob Beyer keeping track and alerting coach of the situation? You know, assisting.

At the end of the day it’s on coach since this should have been an ugly win with teachable moments, not an ugly loss brought on by clock mismanagement.

The casual hardcore fan knows when it's apt to call a timeout

No excuse for it to not be on any of the coaching staff's mind
