its like stan has some weird fetish with saving his timeouts. every other coach advances the ball there with 2 timeouts that late. makes no sense

Zion was gas he played the entire 4th and we were trying to put him back at the 3 min mark but there was never a stoppage of play.

What a terrible loss. Learning experience my arse. JJ flopping and having to give it up to Lonzo, Lonzo shutting his pants and turning it over, Gentry just watching it unfold with two timeouts in his pocket, I mean SVG. Just pathetic. Those 3 can take the blame for this loss in those 5 seconds.
It’s inexcusable to lose when you’re up 6 with the ball with 30 seconds left.

Up 10 with 2 minutes left and our offense went stupid.
- BI missed shot
- BI blocked
- Zion missed a layup
- JJ missed ice cold 3pt shot
- Zo turnover (stupid one where we just should have called a TO)
- BI missed shot that looked stupid (left 0.7s left on the clock)
Zion missed several layups, not just 1. And every time the paint was packed and they weren't good shots. He was forcing it.

JJ needs to get off this cold streak. If he was just below average, we win this easily, but he was ice fricking cold.

Let’s not forget that right before we tied it with the Zion to Lonzo dunk, we missed a layup that was a super unlucky bounce. Who knows what could have happened in that game?

i thought doug pederson's tank job was bad last night until watching stan tonight. ive never seen anything like that

I only got home to watch the last 8 mins and overtime but frick man, here’s what concerned me
- I love BI being aggressive and trying to take over but he gets so tunnel visioned and forces shots when other guys are open. Great example is the shot right before OT, he elevated over 2 guys with 3.5 seconds left, easily could have dumped to Adams who takes it to the rim for a dunk or if help comes a wide open Zion
- on that same play, shouldn’t have been Adams setting that last screen, such an obvious double there, have someone who can make a jumper set it so when they double you can dump it to a wide open shooter, or just clear out and let BI go 1 on 1
- the turnover that led to the tying 3, why do we have only 2 guys down there? Was it that shocking they didn’t fouls JJ right away? How do we not plan for that/how did no one recognize it?
- weird last second heave, I realize there’s 1.7 left and your options are limited, the idea of just tossing it up to Zion is decent, but there was a better way to try and pull that off. We looked totally lost and just no plan at the end
- Is Zions conditioning so poor he’s got to sit the first 3:00 of OT? That’s concerning

Its a God damn no-brainer to call timeout and advance the ball. Obviously tons of things happened other than that, but we almost surely win in regulation if we just do that simple thing.

Hes gotta learn a pump fake instead of flying full force like that.
BI 12/31 was the biggest problem tonight

We really need JJ to get out of his slump. We cruise in this game with him shooting just half way decently.
We got 2-14 out of JJ and Hart.
Stupid turnovers by Ball and Bledsoe.

He went to there scorers table with 3.5 mins left

You can't be serious. Ingram played his heart out. The problem is Redick and Hart combined for 6 points when both of them play big minutes. You can't expect your starters to score all of your points.

Maybe even earlier to that, and we just didnt want to use a timeout to get him in

I can see why we drafted Kira Lewis now over a backup SF.

Zion missing three layup attempts trying to go to the bucket through several defenders while the Pelicans had the lead in the last few minutes of regulation probably lost this one. They didn't keep scoring and the final turnover to allow the tie
%100 not what cost us in regulation. We decided to stop running plays with 4 minutes left and drained the clock just doing an Ingram iso. It was so predictable. And the team clearly needed a timeout, they were tired and lost and we left two on the table.
