I thought it was telling that Langdon did the post draft news conference. He clearly is running the draft board (which he should be). If last years three are any indication of his nose for winning players we are in good shape.

I’m really excited about Daniels and I don’t care if he (or herb, or Jose or even zion) “can’t shoot”. I don’t want to watch a 30+ 3s a game team. I want to watch what we saw in the playoffs plus zions mayhem

I’ve seen multiple experts say Daniels was the best defensive wing in this draft. Nobody said that about Herb last year. They just said he was good defensively. So I think its a possibility.

Keep in mind Dyson will play as a 19 year old rookie. Herb was 23.

Too early to tell, but he’s got the skill set to be better than almost anybody.

I forgot I was in an EJ thread, I thought we were talking about Daniels. Still the point stands. Kevin Pelton is not a crazy shite talker and he said Lidell would make the all rookie team like Herb. I don't think the minutes will be there for that, but if his ability can match that talk, they nailed another draft.

Hoping he develops enough to play spot minutes late in the season and playoffs.

I am totally on board with you here.
This notion of needing more shooting… doesn’t resonate with me. I think we’re fine and I think Zion will simply smash through people and when they double or triple him, our more than competent open shooters will take advantage…

If a team wants to improve its shooting, the team can either draft shooters ... or it can have Fred Vinson on staff.

I think that Option 2 is a solid choice.

I think we’ll have strong shooting from CJ, BI, and Trey. As long as we get competent production from Herb, Alvarado, Daniels, Valanciunas, Nance, Hayes, and Liddell, we should be fine. The key isn’t to be the highest attempts in the league, we should be aiming for efficiency even if our volume isn’t high.

Just watched the EJ video. EJ looks great. He likes to toot his own horn a lot, but he backs up his words with action. His attitude of gratitude, shows that we just picked up another character guy. As everyone else has said, between EJ and DD (and Matkovic stashed in Europe), I think we really scored in this draft.

Perhaps we also tighten up the roster a bit this summer in free agency. Summer league should be fun to watch. But the tough part is having to wait 3.5 months for the season to start in October, at which time we stop flapping our gums and start flapping our wings. What a great time to be a Pels fan.

I love listening to him break stuff down - this was a really cool interview. Potential future coaching skills as well. We picked up a smart, hard working 1st round talent in the 2nd - 2 years in a row

Pels' 3-pt shooting % will take a huge jump next year. Will finish in top half...maybe top 12 or so. As to % of 3-pt shots taken...which needs to be higher, BI will take many more 3s than last year and the only thing stopping Pels from taking many more 3s overall...will be the fact Zion and JV take so many 2s and so few 3s. Of course, Zion's low 3 rate is NOT a problem.

Yeah, I don’t see a way that EJ doesn’t make the roster, he may be the best rim protector on the roster (which sadly isn’t saying much ). You can tell he’s got BBIQ, and he’s a worker. The only think Jax has on him is athleticism, EJ has him on BBIQ, defense, shooting, passing, etc…

Agree, I personally just don’t think Jax has the same mindset as the rest of the team. I just hope he can show some improvement and we can trade him and get some value out of him.

I’m probably in the minority on this, but I really would be surprised if Hayes is on the opening night roster. Hell, I’ll be surprised if he’s on the roster coming the start of training camp.
