I want to like your post....but throwing Jose in there ruined it for me

re: Pels Game 63
Posted by sleepingbunch on 3/8/24 at 7:02 pm
Yeah because we're so long, and only Herb is good at matching up against guys 1 on 1, a matchup zone from time to time plays to our strengths...
re: Pels Game 63

Pels are getting really good at zone defense. This might be a good weapon come playoff time...
re: Karlo has been playing great defense
Posted by sleepingbunch on 7/14/23 at 7:53 am
I'm not ready to give up on him. He has some major holes in this game but he also has some promise. He's a player that we can develop over time....
re: Dame asked for a trade

He's a perfect fit for the heat, and it seems they cleared space for him w their recent transactions ...
re: How close are we to winning the whole thing?
Posted by sleepingbunch on 6/13/23 at 1:45 pm
If fully healthy, this current roster can win a series, maybe 2. Mediocre 3-point shooting and lack of post defense would kill us against opponents deep in the playoffs...
re: CJ McCollum for Chris Paul?
Posted by sleepingbunch on 5/12/23 at 10:44 am
I think we have a top 10, maybe top 5 team on paper. What we need is a better training staff and/or players to take their maintenance and health more seriously.
I believe we were #2 in man-games lost.
We don't need a traditional point guard IMO. We just need health. As stated a few posts ab...
re: The best way to utilize Zion/In re Anthony Davis

I don't know. We need more 3-point shooting
Maybe we should trade Zion for Eric Gordon.
...
re: Will we see any MAJOR changes this offseason?
Posted by sleepingbunch on 4/14/23 at 12:56 pm
To me, a really great major change that could happen outside of your parameters are changes to the medical staff and training.
Also an assistant coach that specializes in installing a crisp offense is a must....
re: Shams: Pels Don't Think Zion Even Close to Coming Back
Posted by sleepingbunch on 4/11/23 at 6:45 am
Zion is young, and clearly might not be making the best decisions or taking great care of himself, but I also REALLY don't trust Griff.
He's misled Pels fans many times before, and has continued to mislead fans about Zion's injury diagnosis. I don't trust a word that comes out of his mouth.

re: Zion Trade Hypothetical
Posted by sleepingbunch on 4/10/23 at 3:02 pm
That scenario is pretty one-sided in our favor. We should do that in a heartbeat, but I think Blazers fans would be furious about the trade from their side. ...
re: Put your positive takes here
Posted by sleepingbunch on 4/8/23 at 10:08 am
Trey and Herb are the real deal. That 2021 draft was awesome.
Without that draft, this team might be in full rebuild mode. I don't think we're winning anything in march/april without those 2 guys. ...
re: Pels vs Pistons: how bad do we want it?
Posted by sleepingbunch on 12/7/22 at 9:43 pm
This season is a marathon, not a sprint. It makes sense for CJ to take a lot of shots in a very winnable game 24 out of 82 against a super young Pistons team. At some point, he needs to snap out of his rut - he hasn't forgotten how to play basketball.
I'm fine with giving CJ a lot of run now eve...
re: Give Naji his due
Posted by sleepingbunch on 12/5/22 at 3:21 pm
Love Naji. Great player for team morale, enforcer, and just skilled enough to stay on the court and make a difference. He has a very versatile skill set. He's been great about getting the ball to hot players lately. He's kind of a B-minus at just about every skill, but isn't terrible at anything and...
re: Pels vs Spurs: Focus

Yeah, the Spurs announcer said GTA has the energy of a 4 year old on a sugar high.
As a parent of a 3 year old....I concur...
re: Pels vs Grizzlies:Who do you trust

Daniels is 100% one of our top 10 players RIGHT NOW. The man needs to play ...
re: We need shooting
Posted by sleepingbunch on 10/24/22 at 12:10 pm
A quick answer to all this is just more shots for Murphy. Murphy played 39 Min against the Jazz, and went only 3/4 from 3. I wish he would have had 8 to 10 attempts. It should be a significant part of the gameplan to seek him out for these shots, especially if Zion/BI draw doubles down the road.

re: who will lead the pels in assists next season?
Posted by sleepingbunch on 8/21/22 at 5:52 pm
It's got to be Ingram, as long as everyone is healthy. He might have the ball in hands the most, and has been steadily gaining some distributor/point forward skills last season. He won't be the #1 scorer anymore, and he'll have the ball a ton, so it just makes sense. CJ #2. ...
re: Realistic Expectations
Posted by sleepingbunch on 7/16/22 at 7:33 pm
I actually think clearly our biggest flaw is 3 point shooting, being that we were 28th in the NBA last season beyond the arc and we have the same lineup returning. 3 point shooting should open up with Zion's addition, but if we can't take advantage of defenses collapsing Zion by hitting our 3's, the...
