quote:

“Over the previous two to three years, I’ve been forced to mostly focus on rehabbing and my body recovering, instead of working out like I want to, as far as lifting and building muscle,” Gordon said this week from his Indianapolis youth basketball camp. “I’m going to change various things this year, so that I can make sure every time I get on the court, I’m the best athlete on the floor, like I was a few years ago, before I came to New Orleans.”

quote:

This was just a minor scope,” said Gordon, who averaged 15.4 points and 3.3 assists. “I’m progressing very well. There’s no doubt that this will be a better offseason for me. This year I’ll be able to transition my body to do things I want to do now, instead of waiting almost until training camp.”

Gordon sounds like a little more upbeat than usual. Has he turned a new leaf?

So has he been working out this summer or he's going to start working out now? Because I saw a picture of him on twitter a few days ago and he looked reasonably fit, but his arms looked small.

obvious ridiculousness of this statement aside I am pretty pumped about the attitude behind it

Yeah, he looks fit. He was a little chubby coming into last season. Good sign, good attitude. Maybe he is determined to turn his career around.

He's probably just realizing the market isn't great for a 26 year old with bad knees and bad attitude and that if he doesn't play better he's gonna hit free agency only getting offers in the $5-6 mil a year or less

With all that weight off, I'm hoping he regains some quickness and explosion. He's going to have to refine his game as the refs aren't going call fouls when he bulldozes into the lane with his head down. I'm hoping to see him play a more finesse game as it'll help his health and will make him develop craftiness in the lane.

He'll be ready just in time to get injured again.
