Daniels plays with a lot of court awareness, that belies his age and experience. He's going to be good.

Daniels is this year's version of last year's Herb.

I legit think he might already be the best rebounder on the team.

He got a ton of loose stuff that I feel like we always lost to the other team in all of these close losses this year.

Kid has vision, handle, length, and defense.

I think he can start next season for us

Gonna have to learn to shoot, but it's not out of the question if Herb can't get out of this funk with the foul issues and bricking open shots.

Its obviously low volume but daniels is 4/8 from 3. His shot looks confident and ahead of where i thought it would be at this point. Herb seems to have lost confidence in his shot. He used to never hesitate last year and you can see a little hesitation when he shoots this year

As good as both look, there is a lot of "NAW is ready to take Lonzo's spot" energy with Jose/DD right now.

Jose is great in his role, as a 6th man burst of energy off the bench. And DD is a good swiss army defender and ball mover, but neither should be starting right now IMO.

As much as CJ has struggled scoring, he has a career high in assists while maintaining his elite sub 10% TOV percentage. Unlike Graham, he really does still have gravity so it make life less difficult for guys like Zion and BI. Where I'll say maybe we should consider, is the idea that CJ should finish games no matter what. There have been several games where we obviously would have been better finishing with CJ off the court, and Willie will have to confront that eventually.

Agreed. You don't bench a 3:1 ast/tov guard who can still have gravity for your two guys. Now the question of not taking so many contested shots we all agree he needs to stop.

However, I get the premise of him finishing games (ball handler, solid defense, vet leader). But, like we have benched zion for bad defense, sometimes Cj is hurting us more than helping offensively.

The issue is who do you replace him with and we don't have a jordan Clarkson type guy

I don't know that Dyson is ready yet to start. I do know that he's already a far better player than Devonte Graham. For now, I just want Dyson to get those minutes.

Herb was starting by the second game of the season getting starter minutes. DD has only played in 6 games and has had numerous coaches decision DNP. I think DD can have a good impact on this team this year, but what Herb did last year was incredible. Herb became the best defender this team has had since peak Street Clothes and instantly became a must start. DD won't make it to being THAT much of an impact/needed player.

There is some lineup that Willie is getting close to with dyson that helps Zions crap defense.

Not trying to shite on CJ, but his TO ratio would be much higher if you consider the amount of blocks he endures every game. He definitely does seem to be passing the ball very well. I'm not worried about his shot. I think as long as he reigns in forcing the difficult shots and keeps this offense pass heavy for good looks, we will thrive. We will always have guys on the court that can hit shots. Just keep getting the good looks.

Dyson, Trey, and Jose seem tailor-made complimentary pieces to Point-Zion against 2nd units.

Unless I missed it, I don't think anybody with a reasonable take thinks that. It's easy to say "DD should start" without saying who you take out. DD needs more minutes and the way Willie got the last night was really well played. From here on out I think he needs at least 10-12 minutes and go from there. He'll earn more. Over the last seven games, Grahams minutes are dropping.

As far as Jose, I'm honestly to the point where I actually would be curious to see him in the starting lineup as a test run. Or him getting at least 20+ minutes per night, no more of the 13-16 minute games he gets pretty often. I say that because Jose has become more than just a spark, he plays great D and his sample size of 3pt shooting is large enough to show that that %40 is not a fluke. Taking CJ out of the starting lineup is not an option, if we're being realistic it's never going to happen, Willie is never going to do that this year (even if for some reason Willie becomes a different coach and takes CJ out, TM3 needs to be the guy to replace him). But this does take away Point CJ which would be nice. So Herb would be the odd man out. You lose Herbs D but you're not inserting a bad defensive player. The 2nd unit has defensive deficiencies so Herb more than makes up for that.

Given the games missed by our stars, we're in good shape right now so what we're doing is working, but if they were going to try something new, if it was the right matchup, I'd be curious to see Jose get a few starts.

Jose has to be in the running for MIP

He's improved so many facets of his game and competing at a high level

Close to my favourite Pelican right now
