Do you think that an offer of #10, Cleveland's 2nd, Our 2022 First, and Lakers 2022 1st would be enough to get there, would be and overpay, or not even close?
not nearly enough. They’re not gonna trade that pick unless we overpay

Didn’t watch Keon personally, but most of the chatter from Tenn fans is that they dislike him and think he is overhyped.

I’ve also heard his teammate, Jaden Springer, is very underhyped. He just seems like a Brogdon type guy. He’s going to be at least an average NBA player IMO. He’s a guy that will get drafted on talent alone, while Keon is a guy who gets drafted on physical ability alone

could see Watford transitioning well to a 3&D role. He has more upside than a traditional 3&D wing player though because he has a nice dribble that he can create with. That 7’2 wingspan can help mask a lot of his other defensive deficiencies. He’ll get quicker and smarter but he’s already got all the intangibles imo. I do have LSU bias though*

Really?

Watford was overrated coming into lsu
Like someone else said, he has really slow feet and has bad basketball iq.

I wouldn't waste a pick on him or Johnson from tenn.

One of the big rumors has Toronto and Golden State dealing. Siakim go the Warriors for Wiggins (back home finally), Wiseman, #7 and #14.. The Raptors would be in rebuild mode. Maybe we could shake lose #7, if there is someone we really want. But they will probably not move #4. Green would be perfect for them..

If the Raptors want to rebuild then let’s send them over the tank commander Bledsoe, Adams and some picks for OG and FVV.

This is a pipe dream IMO, but I'd give up an absolute haul for those two.

FVV
Ingram
OG
Zion
Hayes/Center not on our roster yet

That seems like a surefire playoff team to me.

Same.

I think fvv would solve a few problems.

I'd almost rather go the 2 lesser player route over 1 slightly better player.

I think Siakam killed the trade value he had this past year to make this possible

Possibly. It wasn't my idea. It was all over the rumor sites the past couple of days. The Warriors have to make a big move. Siakim is one of the biggest fish they could get. They have a bunch of good role players that they are locking up..

i'm not comparing anyone to MJ you morons. simply that you don't approach the nba draft with that stupid mindset, "well we already have a young SG so let's not draft another one"

Lol, how else could you possibly describe your MJ comment aside from saying it was a comparison?

Zach Harper’s lottery mock

quote:

10. New Orleans Pelicans – Davion Mitchell, G, Baylor, 22 years old

There are a lot of disagreements when it comes to Mitchell. He could go as high as No. 7 to the Warriors or maybe he drops down to the bottom of the lottery. If he’s available for the New Orleans Pelicans at No. 10, I really like the fit. It’s a little difficult to project what this team might do here because we don’t know who their coach will be. But Mitchell fills a position of need here, especially if Lonzo Ball might exit in restricted free agency. Kira Lewis is a good point guard prospect already on the roster, however Mitchell’s ability to play both ends of the floor would be huge for the defensively-challenged Pelicans.

Moses Moody or Jalen Johnson here could beef up the wing position for New Orleans, though I don’t really know if they fit as well as Mitchell. He can defend, score and turned into a really good 3-point shooter this past season. That said, I’m not sure if we should buy that this aspect of his game is totally fixed. Do you believe the 157 attempts from deep, in which he hit 31.2 percent? Or the most recent 141 attempts in which he made 44.7 percent?

Is a trade possible? David Griffin has accumulated the most picks this side of Sam Presti. For a team looking to make the postseason now, I would not feel like they’re married to making the 10th pick. Would Minnesota try to trade into the first round? Would they aim this high?

He hasn't said much, just not to expect them to keep the pick.

He did say the other day that to this point Griffin hasn't received much value in trade offers for #10, which doesn't shock me in the least.

Anybody watched Filip Petrusev and like him as a 2nd rd?
-6'11'' 235 with stretch potential not a defender
-Averaged 17/7 at Gonzaga a couple years ago went to the Adriatic league and averaged 23/7
-Hit just 27% on 41 3s at Zaga but hit 42% on 62 3s in 21 games overseas this year
-Won league's top prospect, former winners include Saric, Jokic, and Bitadze
Some tape

Haven't watched any Petrusev.

Wasserman just released a new mock. Has us taking Keon Johnson over Moody.
quote:

Keon Johnson had teams talking after his 48-inch max vertical at the NBA combine. Athletic ability and motor set him apart. The New Orleans Pelicans should be drawn to his defense first, though drafting him top 10 means accepting a limited creator and shooter early on.

However, he did flash glimpses of mid-range and post scoring, as well as secondary playmaking potential.

With Josh Hart and James Johnson set to hit free agency, the Pelicans could see Johnson as a plug-and-play defensive energizer with room to improve his ball-handling and jumper.

Full Mock

Also from last week, Pels are working out Josh Primo.
quote:

Draft riser Josh Primo is scheduled for workouts with the Pelicans, Hornets, Spurs, Pacers, Thunder, per source.
Primo firmly in the first-round picture with potential to receive late-lottery consideration. Draft's youngest prospect.

Primo is the youngest player in the class and younger than most of the top prospects in next year's class too.

This is why I think they'll go with upside if they stay at 10 and go after shooters in the second round. Way too many shooters available in this year's class. It's rich with
skilled shooters in both foreign and domestic prospects in the second.

I know drafting for fit in the NBA isnt necessarily what you have to do, but wow Keon Johnson literally couldnt be worse of a fit on this pelicans team
