Man that Boston package is insane. I cant imagine how a team can screw all those assets up. They could even gather those celtics players then trade those first round picks for young vets and probably have a better team right away while being younger and deeper.

Yes, but the downside of the Boston package is you have players coming from Boston. They come from a historic franchise and a bigger market to.... New Orleans
You could have a Gordon-Aminu-Kaman situation. And those guys could want out sooner than later.
With Zion, you start with a clean slate. Even Knox would be coming from a big market, sure, but would have just experience a miserable season. Dennis Smith would have been bounced around and could now be made to feel appreciated.
THAT is the biggest factor that could push it towards New York.
But maybe that point is too obvious and everyone already knows it ;)

i will warm up to this being the #1 option if the Knicks get the #1 pick and they're still serious about dealing
i think Tatum being given the opportunity to be the clear-cut "man" erases the other issues, at least through his next contract

Nothing wrong with dropping the obvious info or just having a discussion. This board is dead most of the time. Just dont go around attacking others when they ask "dumb questions" or stuff that is obvious to you. Its obvious you have a source, your info is appreciated.

Yeah but they would sign their first contract post rookie deal with the pels. Gives you 5-6 year window to figure this thing out. If they cant then they probably will never figure it out.

So does thick skin mean you don't even acknowledge things and make a joke out of them?
I honestly don't care what idiots think of me, but I do care about presenting the facts of a situation. That doesn't mean my skin is thin. It means I value truth.

Get Tatum / Brown / Smart and a few firsts. Turn some of those assets into Beal.
That team would instantly be the best Pels team ever.

Not necessarily. This is something that people are taking as a given that will change VERY soon and Porzingis may have already started it
If you are an up and coming star, who says you have to lock yourself in to your 2nd contract with the team that drafted you? You know you will get a max deal if you just sign the QO and become an UFA the next year. So, you lose 20 million dollars or so in the QO year -- you are gonna make 300-500 million over the course of your career. 20 mil is a small price to pay for freedom of where you can go and a shoe company will probably make that difference up to you.
I PROMISE you that this will become the next trend over the next decade.

as the most hated person in the history of this board, i can give some light advice. you don't acknowledge the low-level/dumb snipes at all. makes the jealous mini-trolls feel like they're on your level (as the perceived enemy)

Lets say Lakers find a way to offer Beal, Kuz and The center with two first round picks. Still think the Boston package beats that but its a discussion now.
Posted on 2/1/19 at 8:01 am to Crewz
the problem is there are only so many desirable locations
this is just one of those rare moments when a couple options are available. the number of total teams who can offer a max deal are not high in any given, random year

Zubac
Kuz/Randle/Mirotic at the 3/4
Beal
Jrue
that roster isn't making the playoffs

Those are all valid points, Mac. The only thing I'm not sure I buy is that by going to the NY route we automatically have to go full rebuild mode and wait for Zion and Knox to develop. As you always said, that is not what ownership is looking to do. They want to remain competitive.
So, I think making that move opens up a ton of cap space to allow us to maybe sign Boogie. Also, with the amount of prospects we will draft and future picks we will possess, I think a move for a guy like Beal isn't out of the question depending on the first half of the 2019 season turns out.
All that hinges, of course, on the Pels getting a top 7 pick in the draft with their own pick and then NY getting #1 overall.

But how do the Lakers get Beal and still have that stuff? Washington aint taking Lonzo and Ingram for Beal. Those guys suck.
But sure: Beal, Kuzma, Zubac and picks gets them in the discussion. But Celtics still win that race

Boston won't make Tatum available unless Davis agrees to a long term contract. They will offer Hayward and draft choices.
The Knicks trade with Dallas pushes Kyrie to the Lakers this off-season. Yesterday's trade will set off a chain reaction that reduces AD trade value.

How do the Lakers acquire Beal and still have Kuzma?

lol, have you not been paying attention like at all?

You couldn’t be more wrong.

What if Lakers offered Kuz and Ingram for Beal. Then offer Pels Beal, Ball, Zubac and two first. I assure you the lakers are trying as we speak.
