Did the botched ending to last night’s game seal the deal on Gentry being fired?

You kidding me? That was some 4D master class tanking. Uncle Al is a fricking Jedi.

you know it’s bad when there’s a better NBA Coach living in the city and he just got fired by Tulane

We lost, still sitting at 9.

We win, we sit at 10.

Win 2 games, we would sit at 13

The margin is slim, worst we'd be is like 6th, but we can easily go from 9 to 14 if we string together wins.

Last nights game should have no bearing on if we keep him or not. But we need to clean house

Gentry is gone regardless. New management is going to want to hire their own coach.

Dunleavy hasn’t coached in the NBA in a decade, and he wasn’t fired for being ridiculously awesome or anything....

It was a botched ending and there was no excuse for it, but why should management complain. If they placed great importance on winning the game they would not have ordered their best player to be kept on the bench most of the game.

If people were actually paying attention, it's pretty embarrassing. If you're just a random person who came to the game and you saw us lose like that to a terrible team you'd be left with a very bad taste.

Most important sentence in the article...

quote:

Gentry’s stewardship had been so commendable that there had been thought in some circles that he might retain his job when the club’s new director of basketball operations is hired next month.
Good to know

We’re actually at 8 now with the loss.

To OP, I don’t think that has any bearing on Gentry retaining his job. I’m sure he has full blessing from ownership to not chase stupid wins at the end of the year, and sitting Jrue is my proof of that imo.

Right. That’s how bad Gentry is

We really need to get that 6 spot, have about 38% chance to get a top 4 pick. That's not bad and not far off from the odds of the top 4 tankers. Seen quite a few mocks with Ja dropping down to #4 depending on the teams that win the lotto.

And yes uncle Al needs to go to have a fresh start all the way through for the new GM. Don't need another Dell Monty situation

I got the impression that was a done deal for some time, just not really publicized yet.

We smashed defeat from the jaws of victory. Definitely 4D tank job

Ja is going two or three...depending on whether the team likes him or RJ more.
