Pelicans GM Dell Demps was at today's Cibona game in Croatia. From what I could gather in Vegas, Pelicans very high on Saric.

most don't have him going until after the lottery teams have picked. i wonder if demps has a trade already in the works.

Hard to say where his stock is at this point.
In the next 3 weeks when workouts start and teams get a better feel for the prospects, guys will be moving up and down the board with the exception of a couple.

Last year, at this time, Jones III, Terrence Jones, and Sullinger were still top 10 picks.

Cibona wins Croatian League. Saric ends season on an average game today, had nice passing flashes & drives but struggled to finish at rim.

Saric can't always totally get by folks off bounce & doesn't play above rim but so crafty in the lane and can shoot in a variety of ways.

Saric Stats: 19 points and 12 rebounds (4/5 2FG, 2/4 3FG, 5/5 FT). His hustle for boards is exceptional.

In Croatian League final, Dario Saric helped KK Cibona sweep & win their league. 19 pts & 12 rebs (4/5 2FG, 2/4 3FG, 5/5 FT). His last game.

That stat line sounds a little better than average- but I still don't want this guy. I've obviously never seen him play, but all the reports say he just can't score, whether it's shooting or driving. Do we really want another SF like that?

Even if he doesn't, there should be plenty of opportunities.

Minnesota wants to trade up from 9
Dallas wants to trade out from 13
Jazz have 14 and 21 and would probably love to move up to 6 and get a PG
Hawks have 17 and 18 and if the don't blow it all up may be more interested in vets than rookies
Bulls may not want another guaranteed contract
Pacers could want to move Granger

This is what worries me about Saric. Belinelli and Ayon both have euro highlights of them driving much more effectively than they ever have in the NBA. If he's quick enough for the NBA I'd be ok with him as a project if we trade back and get multiple picks.

If Dell and Monty draft Saric then I can guarantee they will both be fired by the end of next season. This guy will not make this team any better.

I've had a sneaking suspicion that he will be our pick some kind of way.

I think Dell wants a Euro, and this guy is allegedly the best Euro. Amazing passer and ballhandler...mediocre shooter.

Its interesting that he went 5/5 from the line in that game, because he was shooting really terrible from the line earlier in the season.

Apparently Chad Ford thinks we don't take a PG at all now, pretty much meaning we're going to trade back for a SF or draft Len at 6

I'd rather grab Sergey Karasev after trading back than Saric. Maybe not as good defensively but much better shooter it appears. Shot 49% from the 3 last year in Russia.

SBNation has him going 8th to Detroit with Saric falling all the way to 22.

No one they draft is likely to have an instant impact. Improvement this year will be dependent on player development, FA and trades, not who they draft. That being said drafting Saric at 6 would be a reach, if they do plan to draft him I think they have to be looking at trading back. Also keep in mind that Saric has a $1.5 million buyout which he has to pay $1 million out of his own pocket. He's said he's pulling out of the draft if he's not going in the lottery, so Demps could very well be scouting him for next year's draft.
