Don't feel bad. Send emails to every sirius sports radio show you MIGHT have been listening to and confirm the show. Get on this, bra.

Don't be so hasty, if it is a lie then maybe Filo hears it and becomes interested. TD has made stranger things happen IRL.

Well, this rumor has spread around the internet like wildfire. Its on HR, Larry Holder is talking about it on 690, etc
That says a lot about 690s sports programming

Well to be fair, Holder only said there is a rumor that has been emailed to him about a guy with local ties that could own the team that supposedly gave an interview last night, but he wouldn't give the name out because he couldn't confirm the interview.

I give up, screw it...
I've been doing more of this than I actually have been working.
I can't find it, if everyone wants me to remove the Original Thread, I will.

I apologize to everyone as well.

Well it wasn't Bruce Jacobs of the Sporting News Radio. He emailed me back and said it wasn't him.

Darren Rovell is on top of any and everything to do with sports business, and was on Sporting News radio last night. He knows nothing about this.

Filo was just mentioned by a caller and Asher said he's heard about it.

It's ludicrous that so many people seem to have concluded that Gary Chouest was the only person not just in Louisiana, but on the planet, willing and able to own the Hornets in New Orleans.

1. LA doesn't exactly have billionaires, let alone billionaires who love the NBA, growing on trees
2. the few billionaires LA has got there by being smart...not owning an NBA franchise (which is almost assuredly a losing proposition that will bleed money every year)

a non-local owner is scary for nola people b/c there are other markets out there who will support the team more, who have more people, adn who have more money to support the team. this lowers worries over how much money the team will lose

Eyeran: you're hilarious! And over 9,000 posts too. -which means that you probably don't have a real job, watch a lot of Star Wars, still live at home, and like Anderson Cooper; still haven't found that special lady yet. GET A LIFE DUDE.
