+/- stat is over rated sometimes. CJ had a terrible game, maybe his worst of the season and was +14.

All I heard was his offense needed help but I'm super impressed

He will get better offensively. With exception to Simmons, virtually every NBA player does. The thing is though, his shot is not bad. It’s a bit slow but it’s not bad, and he can get to the cup and finish. I would like to see him be a bit stronger at the rim, but he still has the body of a kid.

I was going to post the same thing. I like it over the course of a season and comparing it to the rest of the team but yeah, definitely need a large sample size for it to be worthwhile.

and he’s smart AF. Dudes basketball IQ on O and D is thru the roof.

He’s about to take a 3 sometimes with the clock winding down and he’ll see a better shooter than him and gets it to them with just enough time. The awareness is amazing.

I agree. This thread was made in praise of last night.

32 minutes on the court, the team was outscored by 10.

16 minutes off the court, we outscored them by 28.

To single him out and praise him, given those circumstances is odd..

If you ageee6that it's worthless then why is it odd to praise him given that's worthless circumstance?

Dyson was +9 with the “starters”

2Q went in favor of spurs, everyone was minus for the most part

2Q +/-

Dyson -11
CJ - 10
Murphy -7
Zion - 7
Nance -11

Another -4 in the waning minutes of the game with the scrubs closing it out

Did you watch the game? He was like a fricking brick wall.

You suck in general and specifically all at the same time.

I like that he’s a big guard, CJ, Jose, DG are not.

Dyson was a professional last year so it's not really a huge transition for him

All this praise is for last night's game?

I didn't watch it all yet. Was he really that good? The box score doesn't reflect that at all..

The box score won't reflect Dyson cutting off a driver and making him pass..or putting up a hand and altering a shot into a miss (that unfortunately got a rebound-put-back by the Spurs)... or playing help defense that results in a turnover credited to the other Pel defender. The dude makes his presence felt, even if it doesn't qualify as a measurable stat.

He also doesn't get extra points for what Sean Elliott called a "world class" layup that he made so effortlessly and as elegant as a Mikhail Baryshnikov Grand Jete.

Wow Danman going full douche in that thread. Fox trolling per usual.

Yeah everyone was pumped about this guy from the get go. His offense looks better than projected which is scary.

Replace one of the “other 3” with Nance and that’s our best lineup, imo.

I thought you were talking about me for a second lol. A lot of us 100% assumed Dyson would become our 2nd best defender and potentially better than Herb.

Dyson was a projected top 10 pick mainly for his defense and Herb was a projected 2nd round pick mainly for his defense. Just that shows you how high opposing teams thought about his future impact.
