Toronto is going to pay out the arse to get him there.

That's why they didn't pull off a trade for Kyle Lowry or go draft Rivers.

EDIT - They want Nash so badly that they will amnesty Jose Calderon to get him.

Taking a hit of up to $10m is a lot for an organization like Toronto, which has a reputation for penny-pinching.

I'd love to have the guy, he is outstanding, but they are trying to build a team of young players.

I love my hometown of New Orleans, but seriously... that statement makes any objective person

Toronto is a top 5 city in North America by pretty much any definition. I'd probably rank it 3rd (or 4th at the very worst) under NYC and Chicago.

He is Canadian. He probably has a different opinion.

Toronto is a great, great city. I love it. I definitely put in the top 6 or 7 North American cities. I also include New Orleans for different reasons.

Well this I can agree with, but to a Canadian citizen like Steve Nash I guarantee you he has Toronto quite a bit higher than New Orleans.

Don't get me wrong, Nash is exactly the type of person who would "get" New Orleans. But Toronto is amazing.

Also given the fact that he lives in Manhattan in his offseason, I think you can deduce that he'd enjoy the "big city" of Toronto more than New Orleans from that perspective. No hate on NOLA though I swear.

love Nash's game, but he wouldn't be good for this team...what is his contract expected to be like?

Most teams like the Knicks and Heat will be offering him the MLE.

The Raptors will probably offer him as much or more than he was making in Phoenix, which was about $11.6m last season.

Oh, I wasn't commenting on what Nash would like. I was just saying that both N.O. and Toronto are among my favorites (NYC, Chicago, San Francisco and a couple of others).

I've been to Toronto, I agree it's a great city. I loved my visit there. But, New Orleans is one of the top tourist spots in the country because it's also a great city. I'd say there's no city in the country with a soul or culture quite like New Orleans. An outstanding draft and so much potential for the Hornets, there's not many teams set up better for success. Call it homerism if you want, but The Hornets are very appealing, way more than Toronto.

Isn't Nash from the Vancuver area? I doubt he feels any ties to Toronto as he's from no where near there.

I also doubt he'd sign with either Toronto or New Orleans regardless of what either team would offer.

He wants to go to a winner and championship contender.

That would be awesome, Nash is one of my favorite players. But I dont think he would fit in a Monty Williams style team as he can't play defense worth s%#t. Also if i were Nash I would want to play for a team that can win right now, not down the road
