CP3 sounds like he doesn't think he's staying in OKC

Short video clip of CP3 leaving Disney and giving his thoughts on the year. He said Sam Presti has been "straight forward" with him from day 1 and "I don't know what the future holds". He's saying goodbye and thank you to the OKC org and fans in a way that makes it seem like he thinks this might be his last chance to do so.
LINK

Maybe this is just how a vet who's on his 4th team talks at the end of the year, but I can't imagine CP3 will be happy to waste a year of his career on a team not trying to win after seeing how far he dragged them this season.

He also gives a shout out to the 2010-11 Hornets team and called it a "special team".

I’d take him for the right trade scenario where we acquire a lot of picks. I think it was you ATL who had a good trade idea that gave us CP3 and some really good assets

Yeah it was a 4 teamer with Jrue to the Warriors, CP3 to the Pels, Lonzo and Darius Miller going to the Knicks, and Wiggins and Portis going to the Thunder. The Knicks would be giving up #8 for Lonzo and the Warriors would be giving up #2 and the Minnesota 2021 pick to swap Wiggins for Jrue.

I'd cheap out on what pick OKC gets as much as I could but lets assume you have to give them #2 to make this happen. The Pels would trade Jrue and Lonzo for CP3, #8, Minny 2021 1st.

You might be able to squeeze more assets out of trading both Jrue and Lonzo, but I don't think you'd find another trade where you get an upgrade to Jrue as both a mentor and Win Now piece, while getting good future assets to add to the war chest.

Watching him the past few games made me wonder where we’d be with him on the team this year. You can’t teach that type of vocal leadership we desperately need.

This team would be in the playoffs with Chris Paul. I remember Jason Smith's first game with the Hornets. CP3 got knocked down and Jason Smith was the closest teammate in his line of sight but he wasn't going over to help him get up and CP3 started yelling at him. Smith quickly changed direction and helped him up.

This team needs to be yelled at for not doing all the little things. I think Zion and Ingram could learn a lot about winning from Chris Paul.

CP3 walks into your building and gives you 50 wins. It is unfortunate he will probably never win a ring. He can truly get on my damn nerves sometimes but I would take him in a heartbeat

I love Jrue, but don't want the Pels to pay him 4/100M+.
Ball im indifferent about.

If Paul was happy to retire in NOLA, i'd do that deal.

However we need to ensure that we either think NAW is our future or the guy we pick in this draft.

No more bigs with high picks 1-10.

Ya boy
Eric Asher said it best the other day..

This team needs an Alpha Dog on the court.
CP3 like Rondo is what is missing.

Like a ship with no rudder is what we see now CP3 would take us to the next level

made the smart move and left a sinking ship. I get being upset with him right when he left but you can’t blame him for doing so. Would love him back

Exactly! Some people dont know how much of a shite show the Shinn era was. I would replace Lonzo with 35 year old Chris Paul in a heartbeat.

I mean the articles have been written. Basically DWest and CP3 became utterly crushed and demoralized when it became clear ownership was more about saving a buck than actually trying to compete. Attempting to trade Tyson Chandler for pennies on the dollar and giving a frick about championship aspirations if it couldn’t be done on the ultra cheap. Hell, when asked, his fondest memory as a pro is of our playoff team.

I honestly hate the player CP3 became after leaving New Orleans, embodied some of the worst trends in the sport, the flopping, ref whining as a sport, but he left Nola not because he hated it(hell, the guy still spent multiple summers here running his charity organizations and went out of his way to talk up the people here), but because he knew the organization he played for was a dead end.
