With the rumors going around that Harden and Westbrook want out of Houston, is it possible for the Pelicans to get Harden in a deal? I know they are shopping around Holiday and a lot of teams want him, so maybe the Pels could trade Holiday and 1 other player/draft pick to Houston to get Harden?

Could? Absolutely, we are loaded with assets.

Would? Absolutely not. He doesn't even come close to fitting the culture Griff and SVG talk about.

Harden, Ingram and Zion are a Championship level 3some. There is little overlap and we become a top 3 team in the league. It would be foolish not to go for it. Especially if Harden is motivated.

I'd imagine we would have to trade away Holiday seperately to someone like Atlanta, picking up little salary (#6 and Reddish). I'd guess a Davis type of package would be needed. Ball, Hart, Miller, Hayes, #6 and 3 future 1sts. Something like that..

Harden, Ingram and Zion.

Imagine how bad that defense would be.

Hearing the stories emerging from inside the Rockets has me wanting to run away from Harden. As good as he is.

Sounds like a player up his own arse, a manchild, a locker room problem, and not able to be a good teammate.

I thought all of the same stuff about Davis when he was here. A change of scenery and a strong coach (Van Gundy) can do wonders. He is still a massive Superstar and would make us instant contenders..

I don't think a young team without a set culture is the environment that is going to mature Harden.

I mean listen, we had a thread like this a little while ago and I was basically with you but reading shite like this:

quote:

In another instance, Rivers was barked at by Harden after the former MVP missed a free throw and blamed Rivers—who was standing up by the bench—for distracting him."

quote:

A large chunk of the angst, however, stems from a lack of accountability, sources said. During the January locker room meeting following a home loss to Portland, Westbrook, who was leading the meeting, went around the room indicating what was wrong and what each player needed to do to fix the losing streak, starting with himself, sources said. When it came to Harden, however, he wasn’t as receptive to criticism as other teammates, sources said."

Going on to mention how Harden got pissed, defensive, and blame shifting.

Which I thought maybe he had gotten over his Dwight Howard days(where it was reported he refused to hang out with the rest of the team because he thought he was too good for them), and had chalked up the CP3 stuff to CP3 being a bit of a dick, it seems to be a recurring pattern. A player that is really up his own arse, not a very good teammate, not accountable, and pretty selfish.

Basically, the selfish a-hole game he plays on the court, seems to be the way he plays off the court as well.

This is what is going to happen. Harden is going to stay in Houston. Westbrook probably gets moved for a few pieces and they sign some minimum level guys. The Rockets end up as a top 4 seed anyway. The guy just wins. I don't know how they are ever good. Every year they have a horrible roster, but they keep winning..

No, because Zion and Ingram would have to fight Harden for the ball to get a shot.

I'd rather grow organically and let BI and Zion naturally develop rather than them have to fight with a ball hog who only cares about his own stats, and is a horrible teammate.

No offense, that is a lie. You just don't like the guy. If someone said Dame, instead of Harden, everybody would sell the farm to get him. Harden is superior in pretty much every way, but people just like Dame more and think his game is more aesthetically pleasing..

Where’s the lie? People in that rockets locker room have major issues with Harden

Dame cares about winning. He doesn't care if he scores 10 points on 4 shots, as long as he wins.

Harden cares about winning, but only if he's getting his 25 shots and 30 points. If he loses, he doesn't really care he just blames his teammates because he points to his stats and says he did his part.

See the difference?

Supposedly everybody hated Jimmy Butler in every locker room he has been in. I have no idea if it will be better if he were here. But if you can get a top 5 guy, you get him. Now, maybe he is in decline and you don't want to get stuck. But I haven't seen any signs of that yet.

Let me tell you where I'm coming from. I was a huge Barkley fan. He was a massive cancer in Philly. Everybody hated him. Teammates, coaches, media.. They couldn't wait to get rid of him. So they traded him for bits and pieces. You know how that ended. I could give you a bunch more guys just like this. Kawhi to Toronto just happened. I think it is worth the risk..
