FYI Larry doesn't show up until about 1 hour and 15 minutes in.

Nance only showed up for about the same amount of minutes as Zion plays per year. How dare you, Larry Nance.

Meh, the very causal joke doesn’t get made, if Zion ever exhibited the characteristics of a professional that takes his body and rehab seriously.

Only rehab he MIGHT take seriously would be sex addict rehab.

Because those habits are likely to cost him far more than his conditioning at this point.

I didn’t mean to hijack though. It’s honestly Cool we have some guys on the team willing to interact with the fans and blog boys.

We just need 1 guy to look into the mirror, lock in and commit and this could actually be special. If not, it will continue to be a disappointing shite show.

Zion put in the work last off-season and lost weight to be at the lightest he was as a Pelican. The problem was that it wasn’t enough. He needs to be 10-15 pounds lighter than when he started last year. He is an EXTREME endomorph which means he puts on muscle extremely easily but it’s much harder to lose fat. On the other hand someone like one of my friends is built like BI eats a shite ton and a shite ton of candy and can’t put any fat or muscle on. Zion is a 1 of 1 and needs to have a 1 of 1 approach to his body. How he looks in the preseason will say a lot.

Agreed on all of that. Last offseason, minus 15 pounds is probably legitimately Duke Zion.

Enough for what?

Zion was playing at an elite level (and playing into better shape as the year went on), before he hurt himself trying to carry the team while BI "wasn't mentally ready to play"

Doing yoga with CJ isn't going to save this guy from soft tissue injuries if he's going to play the way he does -- start/stop, second jumps, etc

Oh look, an unoriginal joke that has been made 100000 times, and now this is a Zion thread.

Some of you folks are doing your absolute best to make Pels Talk as least enjoyable as possible.

Yeah, it’s ridiculous, this thread has absolutely nothing to do with Zion but these idiots have to come try to ruin everything

To recap, will update as i listen,
Trey said he sees biggest need on the team as more shooting and more rim protection.
Larry said shooting and health, the rim protection thing is overblown because yes teams shoot a high percentage on us at the rim, but they don’t get to the rim often.

Larry said last season he played at 250 lbs, this year he’s switching it up a little and will drop down to 240 to help stay with guards more. Kind of sounds like he may not play as much small ball 5 as last year, or at least not as many minutes there.

Trey has already spoken with Borrego and is excited about the things he wants to implement, it will make us a much more potent offense.

Talking about injuries, there’s zero frustration in the locker room about Zion and BI injuries. Larry said everything fans say on twitter they see it, and fans were criticizing him for his drop in play while he was playing through injuries, so fans can’t have it both ways. They can’t play through injury and play at 100%.

CJ called Borrego an offensive wizard. He imagines there will be alot more off ball movement alot like they had in Portland.

The exact opposite, IMO. What he's saying is that, when he plays center, the Pels switch everything, and he needs to be able to defend against opposing guards.

It means that he's leaning into the center role, as opposed to thinking of himself as primarily a PF, as he once did.

I don’t know, at a lower weight it’s gonna affect his ability to hang down low with other bigs imo

Yep, he’s saying rim protection isn’t as important if you keep the opposing team from penetrating.

Yes, they will have to double in the low post. But the rebounding concern will be eased with Zion in the lineup and if Trey can add some muscle this offseason.

You’re rewording this same joke in every thread. It wasn’t funny the first time.

I wonder if he's talking about new schemes for next year?

Last year just looking at shots at 0-3 feet, we were slightly above league average in % of a team's shot coming in that range against us, so teams were getting to the rim at a slightly above average rate on us.

Bingo, I said this about a million times during the season in regards to CJ. People flip out and call Zion and BI soft and every name in the book for not playing hurt, and a lot of those same people flipped out and hated CJ for missing shots while playing hurt and going as far as saying injuries are no excuse and if you're out there you should perform to your expected levels blah blah blah.
